Kicking Leaves

,

Walking in and kicking leaves about is a very strong childhood memory for me. Fall was magic to me, which is probably the reason why autumn is my favourite season still.

Nice reminder
When I was a kid I liked to walk over the dry leaves in a park. My mother was angry afterwards because my shoes were always dirty :D

It is wonderful. And the smell of the leaves too. And then there is another smell when people burn them. Or when it rains and they get wet.

Stardancer 31. October 2009, 22:44

We raked the leaves into huge piles, then jumped into the middle of them, acting like complete fools.

Then had to rake them up again so Dad could burn 'em.

Great memories.

Thanks, Allan, for sharing yours.

We used to rake leaves into piles near our swing set, then jump off the swing into the piles.

Loved the photo of the little girl's leggings and sneakers.

Looks like everybody have their own kicking-leaves memories

My memories DO include knee-high socks. But it was about some girl with a most charming upper lip who wore her socks like that.

Thank you, all of you, for your nice comments.

Veery nice memories! We would also collect the chestnuts that would fall about the same time.

ricewood 1. November 2009, 14:53

TY, Leazz

So did we, Lois. And as late as yesterday I invited a kindergarten in my own garden to pick up the about 500 chestnuts I had lying around. We have the largest chestnut tree in the street p:
