My first Camera

My father gave it to me on my birthday, and before the day was over I had taken the first roll of film. I did what every kid does when provided with a camera; I photographed my dog, my house, my friend, a flower, my parents and everything else I cherished.
I was hooked on photography immidiately - as I still am. And I discovered one of the main things about taking pictures; I could freeze the moment and preserve it as a memory. (Later I began expressing myself and all that jazz - but that´s an other story)
I still have the prints of that first roll of film - and now they are a treasure to me even more because of the pictures of my late, beloved father. I have a lot of memories about him, I can still remember his voice, his laughter and many, many things about him. I think that my photographs through many years have helped me remember him.
The above picture is of my first camera (yes, it still works), and some of the prints from that very first roll of film. The guy driving the red Saab is my father in front of our home. My sister took the picture of me with the dog.
That is a long time ago indeed!
