My message in a bottle

The Mumbai Attacks

,

I am currently sitting in my living room watching the telly and experiencing the terrorist attacks unfold in Mumbai, India.

I don't think this is the time and place to say something clever or analytic about the whole thing. No, this is just a cry out. And an expression of grief and compassion.

Will these sorts of tragic events never come to an end? Slaughtering innocent individuals in order to achieve political goals is disgusting.

My deepest sympathy for the victims and their families, and my most profound disgust toward the attackers.

That's it for now. Maybe later I'll feel like elaborating.

For me it's incredible how people can do this for other people...

As I do have a very young woman my daughter, in the beginning of her life fighting for the poorest of the poor in India. Leaving on Saturday for India and the children she is looking out for I have no words Just one question that no one can answer. Why?

Just when you think people can't get any worse, something like this comes along to make you wonder if there is any hope for humanity. I've been watching it this morning too.

I feel the same way. Utterly horrible and pointless. There are three Indians working in my lab; as you can imagine, they are especially upset over this. sad

Events turned out for the worst after I wrote this entry. I feel nausea just reading about it. It's so brutal and inhuman.
