Yesterday i stayed up till late night watching new french animated sci-fi movie Reneissance and i have to say this: IT'S AWSOME!
The story about kidnaping young scientist woman working for large pharmacy company is wery good,i did enjoy it and never felt lost in the story. If you are asking for the mood of phe picture,it was like traditional french criminal movie mixed up with Blade Runner, Akira and Ghost in the Shell.
But what was really stunning was the visual part of the film. If i will say, it was black and white 3D CGI movie, you woul'd think of movie done in gray, like old movies was. But no. I'm talking Black and white here. Like Frank Miller's SinCity. Well, mostly :)
Paris in the movie is hyper modern metropolis with roads under glass wallkways combined with the "old" paris together. And it's done perfectly. Maybe it's because of the B&W, hard shadow thing, but it looks perfectly natural. And not only the city. The people living in it also. Thier movement doesn't yell "LOOK, I WAS DONE BY COMPUTERS!" at you from distance, thier faces actually do express emotions... In one word, i like the movie. It show the world that not only japanese can do good cyberpunk story in thease days ;)

A word to the photo. I take it while going home from my work. I tought it will be suitable for this topic, cause the tram is going around old factories, used as storages now. You will see something similat in the movie, too :)

And by the way, it didn't take me long to write post so long, it didn't fit in the 450 characters i can write in operaMini and had to finish the article on home computer. Well well, i was wondering how long it will last ^_^
