Some games for the Nintendo DS Browser
Saturday, 26. May 2007, 16:49:22

The games are made to fit the DS Browser's screen size, so that you can play them without scrolling. They are also developed with the DS browser's speed, javascript capabilities (which are very good!) and control system in mind. All the games are contained in the same web page, so that you can close and reopen the DS to break the internet connection (and save battery), and continue to play all the games. The web page is still very light, so it loads quickly in the browser.
I have also made offline versions of the games. If you bookmark one of the offline versions, you can play the games even after the Nintendo DS has been completely powered off.
The games currently are: Panel Puzzle(see also my widget) | Minesweeper |
Hang Man | Snake |
Tetris | Reversi |
If you have a Nintendo DS and the Nintendo DS Browser you might want to go to and bookmark this page:

I really hope it works because i can't access it with my regular computer.

Wow this is really cool!! =D (o:3) ^_-
But how do you make it download on the DS Browser?
Do you think a SUPER MARIO BROS. game written in javascript would work on the DS Browser? I found one called Super Maryo World and you can find it at: http://www.janis.or.jp/users/segabito/JavaScriptMaryo.html

@axs007: That's right. They're all written in javascript.
@AngryMAn400: I'm using data URIs to make it possible to store it on the DS browser. If you look at the url to the offline page, it is really long. That's because the whole web page is contained in that url.
It would be cool to try to make Super Mario Bros work on the browser. But I think it would be really, really hard. The game that you found was quite impressive. But developing something similar for the DS Browser would be very much harder because you've got so little RAM to work with.

right would'nt it be simple to buy the "new super mario bros." game
i mean the javascript could be writen out but how many levels would you be satisfied with that would take a lot of space it made more for simple games *hint *hint like chess,or pinball would be hard to do but just adjust the difficulty by speed i would really really like to see a pinball game for it!

Whoa Nelly thats one long bookmark!!! But what's the beginning of it so the ds browser will know not to connect to the internet? I want to make a page with a password generator able to be saved to the ds without having to connect to the INTERNET ! I deleted the game and now i have too many bookmarks!! Also, I cant get to the game page using Firefox on windows but i can get to it with firefox on mac!!!

@nostrilwangler667: You'll have to convert the html-file to a data URI. You can use f.ex. the online converter at http://software.hixie.ch/utilities/cgi/data/data to do this. It would also be easy to make the games work perfectly in Firefox, but I prioritized optimizing them for the DS Browser instead.
I'll try to upload a more compressed offline version soon.

What language did you write these in... I have an idea on what I could do to improve the DS, but first I need to know how to save the application to the cartridge, and, first of all, how to write them. Please e-mail me at xaivior13@gmail.com with any information. Thanks.
