Vaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacaaaaaaaaaaaation!

, ,

Last exam went awesome! ... Or so it seems. I have never been as good in computer architecture as I was today. Seriously. I even think I can compete for the top grades. yes

Now I am just briefly at work to pick up some books, "Programming Perl" and "Perl Best Practices". This will be awesome. I'm ready for the weekend. :-)

Easter vacation.

, ,

Peace and quiet. Today I had the day off with nothing on the agenda. We've been watching quite some episodes of Deep Space Nine and generally had it very relaxing.

Tomorrow we'll be going to Skien with the buss that leaves at 1130. It's ETA is approximately 2.5 hours later, so we'll catch the best of the day there. We'll pick up our car in Skien too, where it has survived the winter. It will be very nice to get the car again, as it makes it easier visiting family and friends that live further away than where the buses, trams and trains of Oslo easily carries us.

I am, believe it or not, considering changing my layout again. Don't worry, I've gotten a theme that I am quite pleased with (although I might try to experiment some with the sidebar at a later point in time. Some part in me wants to have a white background of the blog to simplify reading and for general slickness. White on black looks a bit emotional in the end, so I'll probably stick to the plan and repaint the design white. The problem is: I do not have any suitable header images. As such, I'll have to speculate and, hopefully, find something that fits a white design.

The main criteria of the design header will be:
- Merry! I want to have something that I can look at and feel the urge to write in this blog. Something that fills me with memories, happy thoughts and that I feel proud of.
- Since I have used about all images I made and put up on DeviantART, I'll have to look through free stock sites to find something.
- Natural! I've quite enjoyed the past images I've used of natural evironments. Mainly due to the fact that I can dream away into the landscape and imagine things. Yeah, it sounds creepy but I took myself in doing that at work some time ago when I still had my tornado design.

Does anyone know of any good and free stock image websites, except sxc.hu? smile

Home again!

The trip went awesomely well, and, believe it or not, we have snow here at Ørnes. smile I'll try to get some pictures later on, but for now I just want to say that it's good to be home again. smile

As days go by

,

The last days we haven't done anything intriguing. We've been watching some Battlestar Galactica and sleeping a lot. Today Anniken's computer got a BSOD, and we need to reinstall Windows onto it. Unfortunately we don't have a CD with Windows XP Home here, so it will have to wait until we get to Oslo.

Regarding our preordered MSI Winds, the regular 10" Winds are still unconfirmed to ps.no, but today we noticed that they were advertising for a 10.2" model which is the exact same, just that the monitor is .2" larger. These are confirmed to August 18th. I gave them a call, and we got transfered over to that party. Anniken won't get a white one, as she originally wanted, but at least we will get these ones.

I've also created an album from the vacation with the images taken during our vacation. Yesterday we went on a short trip to a place called Grensen, the border between the municipalities Meløy and Gildeskål, where we shot some images.

Lazy days at home

, ,

Not much happening these days. Today we've been chilling out, playing some World of Warcraft and then chilled out some more. We're planning on going to play some ball in Glomfjord later on.

I've released the unitframe layout for oUF I've made, oUF_Amnith which can be found on WoWInterface. Linkage to the addon: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info10075-oUFAmnith.html

... And we're home.

,

Home sweet home. Or not home, since I look at Oslo as my home now. But still home, since this is where I have grown up and spent the approximately first 18 years of my life. The weather was nice and we could see Meløy from air. It was incredibly! Unfortunately, I was unable to take any pictures. I tried once, but I think the reflection from the wings of the plane destroyed it. I shall look into it later, but I fear it's ruined.

Anyways, MELØY --- I'M HOOOOME!

Ready to leave

,

Today we have done little else than bracing us for departure 0430 tomorrow. We've been packing and weighing our clothing to ensure that we don't have too much weight in the suitcases. We also played some World of Warcraft, but not particularily much. Today's dinner was acquired from 7 Eleven, and I had a pepperoni calzone, while Anniken took a spring roll and some wok. We've also done the dishes and some laundry, so everything's ready for departure.

Hopefully, we'll hear the clock and be ready to depart at about 0430, since the buss arrives at the bus stop at 0445. The bus trip takes about one hour, and we can expect to be at Oslo Airport Gardermoen at about 0545. We then have one hour to get checked in and to work our way towards the gate. The boarding usually starts 30 minutes in advance, so I assume we're on the plane sometime around 0640, with the plane leaving at 0700 hours.

Expect updates during the coming night and the morning. smile

Vacation!

,

Today is, in theory, the first day of the vacation. Although I did not go to work yesterday, today is still the first day both me and Anniken have vacation, although she's been working until 1930 tonight.

The day after tomorrow, Monday, we will be going on a vacation to my home place, Ørnes. I am hoping to get some pictures taken, to show off its beauty to the world. They shall of course be published in this blog. wink

Regarding the MSI Winds we pre-ordered, they are still not confirmed, but hopefully they will arrive before we start up at school the 19th.

Finally, I'll just show a cute image to you. If you wondered where Edvard Munch got inspiration for his "Scream", I know now:
