Tamil Nadu, Mountains, Learning, photography
...
Finally I got out of Bangalore after a long time. Spent about 4 days in
Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu and had a real blast. Beautiful place, great weather, superb vistas and staying with some of the most hospitable people was the best part of it.
I stayed with a French family who I know through a friend I made at work. They have been lviing in Kodaikanal for almost 10 odd years. Living with them made me envious cause I realized that even though we live in such a beautiful country we never really are true to our roots while others coming to our country take up our heritage and live according to them.
Seems like we all have a lot to learn especially me. Anyway here are some images for all of you to enjoy! More can be found at my

Critic, Dumb, News, Bangalore Mirror
This post is in regard to
this news on the the front page of
Bangalore Mirror.
How is that kid (Akshai) from Bangalore, actually how is he even Indian? His dad is from Bangalore, Mom's from Coimbatore. The boy was born here in Bangalore but has spent the rest of his life outside India!
Everytime some kid (or adult) with an Indian heritage makes it big outside the country the media makes a huge deal. I don't understand why.
He was born in Bangalore, not educated here (He studies at Kennewick High School)! Funny thing is the rest of the article has quotes from his Uncle who lives in Bangalore. There are no quotes from Akshai or his parents.
BTW, this article is written by my ex colleague from my days of being a crime reporter at a city based news channel.

...
I keep getting chances to meet
celebrities in my line of work. I tend to stay away caus eI can't stand the sight of them normally, but last Sunday I had to cover the Royal Challengers event at the Taj Residency. Boyu was I glad I did go there along with my camera.
This woman was looking superb and she was smart too! So it was fun asking her questions and getting some witty answers from her in return.

Ok before anything else let me say that I have shot wildlife images only a couple of times in places like Mysore, Mangalore and Mandya. I’ve been able to shoot images of Mugger crocodiles at Ranganthittu bird sanctuary (Yes, the lake that you can row across is filled with them), Karanji lake also plays host to a lot of birds because of its calm and serene lake while they have a small aviary inside it too. So with this limited amount of experience let me share
what I have learnt:
1.) Patience
2.) Attentiveness
3.) Season/Knowledge
4.) Silence
5.) Fun
