The Art Of Shaving

,

Today's post is an interesting one and it is also very personal. I started shaving in the summer before moving to St. Lawrence Seminary (WI) for my Sophmore year of Highschool. A barely noticeable tuft of hair on my chin was noticed by Father Gary, who had come down to Saudi for the summer to preach at our Parish, and he advised me to start shaving in preparation for life on the Hill.

So as you can see from the above excerpt I started shaving at the same age that most other people do. My starting knowledge was provided by my father in the confines of my bathroom in Saudi Arabia while my mother watched with horror and amazment at the blade at my throat. The blade was a Gillete Sensor Excel and it was very useful to me until I started to learn more about shaving and started appreciating it as an art form.

Men's Health provided me with knowledge about shaving and also about what type of skin I had and how I should manage it. I hope you haven't got the idea of me being a "Pretty Boy", I was far from it then and still further from it now. Did I take good care of myself?

Yes I did, to the best of my abilities and my finances.

GQ was the magazine that I subscribed to as I got older and it was through this quarterly that I realized shaving to be an art form. I have now accepted it as an essential part of life that I need to deal with on a daily basis.

A Lack Of InterestStuff that I found to be interesting today..
