the subversive use of sacred symbolism in the media

Not too long ago a 'friend' and I had an interesting discussion on how the media seems to have an intense influence on some individuals in society. They seem to be accepting everything that the media feeds them. More importantly, these individuals seem to have let go of thinking for themselves as the media is doing the thinking for them. Society seems to have fallen into a black hole where they exist as brain dead zombies...like sheep. One of my favorite books is George Orwell's Animal Farm. For those who have not had the pleasure of reading this book, Orwell describes sheep as those who follow blindly. Does this not sound familiar?!

Anyway, I was browsing through a few videos and found this lil jem.
The Subversive Use of Sacred Symbolism in the Media
I would like to know what you think about Michael Tsarion's view on the media and its influence on society. He focuses more specifically on how the media and BIG corps use ancient symbols to influence the thinking and the 'buying power' of society. So, click, watch, THINK and then comment....
I will keep my comments on Tsarion's 'theory' to myself for now...

*PS....I stress, this post is not intended to generalise that ALL individuals within our society are sheep...just some of them...*
