The Gaspésie (official name) or also Gaspé Peninsula or the Gaspé is a peninsula constituting part of the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River, in Quebec, Canada. It extends into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and is separated from New Brunswick by the baie des Chaleurs and the Restigouche River.
The interior is rugged, being a northward extension of the Appalachian Mountains. This range is called the Chic-Choc Mountains. A section of the International Appalachian Trail travels along the peninsula. Route 132 circles the peninsula, with one branch following the coast and the other cutting across the peninsula at Sainte-Flavie. Forillon National Park is found at the northeastern tip of the Gaspé.
The easternmost point of the peninsula jutting into the Gulf of St. Lawrence is called Cap Gaspé. The name "Gaspé" comes from a Mi'kmaq word gespeg meaning "land's end".

Matane in province of Québec with some members of my familly

Matane is a city on the Gaspé Peninsula on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River at the mouth of the Matane River. The city is the seat for the Matane Regional County Municipality.
There is a ferry service which crosses the river to Baie-Comeau and Godbout on the north shore.
The Matane area is known for its shrimps. The Shrimp Festival, which used to be held in June, was cancelled due to lack of volunteers. The Matane river is also known for salmon fishing.
The name of the city is said to come from a Mi'kmaq word meaning "beaver pond".

Hâvre-St-Pierre in North Shore in province of Québec

Havre-Saint-Pierre (sometimes Havre St. Pierre or Havre St-Pierre), is a town located on Pointe-aux-Esquimaux, which is on the Quebec north shore (Côte-Nord) of the Saint Lawrence River in Canada. Historically, the town's first inhabitants came from the Magdalen Islands in the nineteenth century. As a result, the people of the town speak a dialect much more closely related to Acadian French than to Quebec French.
Havre-Saint-Pierre is the largest town just west the eastern terminus of Route 138 in Natashquan. There are no known plans to further extend the highway to eventually reach the Labrador border near the Quebec village of Blanc-Sablon, from which an existing road extends west to Vieux-Fort.
Havre-Saint-Pierre is important due its position in the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve, a park encompassing a large number of islands in Mingan Archipelago of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and noted for the unique variety of flora and fauna to be found there, such as puffins and the rare Mingan Thistle, as well as the unique geological features on many of the islands referred to as monoliths.
Havre-Saint-Pierre is also located near Canada's only titanium mine, for which the town serves as a port.
Other important geological features near the town include the Romaine River to the north and west, les Chutes Manitou, on the Manitou River to the west, l'Ile du Havre, less than a kilometre offshore from the town, and Anticosti Island, which on clear days can be seen to the south of the town.
The town is also noted for the excellent fishing, being made up largely of snow crab, scallops, and lobster, with excellent salmon and trout to be found in the numerous rivers and lakes.
