Going on the air... from above the graveyard

,

So, this would be my cosy prison

I work in a local radio station. Smederevo, actually, has six radio stations, which IS too many.

And, how would you recognise that I'm in the shift?

That's right! Lots of everything on the table.

Notice the BIG glass of water? Well, our air-conditioning system had a crash recently. It started sprinkling ice all over the place and then broke down. So, it's really HOT in the studio.

The studio is, by the way, in the cellar. With no windows. Plus, the building is built over the old jewish graveyard... Well, I can't really say that we all believe in ghosts, but, our palms get all sweaty with no reason, and there are strange power cutdowns once and awhile... Creepy in a way.

And, one of my jingles...

Running away from the past?

,

A friend of mine recently screamed how everything (in music) is coming back and how there's impossible to hear something new. However, almost in the very same sentence, she said that the eighties' pervormers still working nowadays (such as A-Ha, Duran Duran...) have changed their sound and style. Now, I don't get it? Everything is the same, but also not, at the same time?

Okay, maybe the voices are still the same. However, there are plenty of new performers (=new voices).

Plus, everything is constantly developing, and every phaze is just a... phaze. Without the music of the eighties, as a stage in the evolution, I doubt that the music would be the same nowadays. Without the music of the seventies, there wouldn't have been the music of the eighties as well... Circle of life.

I can just imagine her, 20 years from now, screaming how everything is the same again - when those bloody perfprmers that were fresh and new down in 00's start coming back and releasing new stuff.

She likes Sting. Hmmm... He also started in the eighties, my dear...

I'm not saying that I dislike the new music... However, why to keep running from the past? Speaking of music, it hasn't done anything wrong to us...

PS.I love the music of the eighties. So what?
