JukeAtz

you can fight the sleep but not the dream

Oh.

, ,

Yeah, the blog is dying. Here's why.

Gotta move out in ten days and yet haven't found a new apartment.
This weekend gonna work at Belgrade Hairstyles Exhibition in order to earn some money for the moving.
Plus, the exams have started.

So...

My life is a mess. Again. Anxiety. Panic. Blah.

If I disappear, do not be surprised.

Yeah.

A great one!Well, I have to post something x)

Nutella, one of the more bizarre looking things I've seen at the supermarket. I like the hazelnut liquor Frangelico, so I think I should like the hazelnut Nutella. Every time I hear the name Nutella, I feel like I should be trading files on the Linux box with Gnutella.

I'll get it all straightened out someday.

When I was much younger and the anxiety/panic would hit, I'd do what I'd call a "hard reset" of my brain by drinking a 12-pack of these. There can be health issues or dependency problems with that, however.

Issues like anxiety/panic/life-is-a-mess seem to be life-long. I thought I'd grow out of them eventually, but I see my nearly 80 year old mother still having these issues, too. I think you just have to develop an arsenal of coping strategies to get by and use whatever works at the moment.

If Nutella provides comfort for some, that would be the one to use at that moment!

Because of this thread, I got my first jar of Nutella today. I haven't sampled it yet.

Here's visual verification of it.

Came from Belgrade half an hour ago, gonna blog something today... x)

Nutella on crêpes: I see a lot of pics of nutella on crêpes, but that is a bit fancy for me. Maybe I will try it on a standard pancake or waffle.

Nutella is the best by itself. Spreading it over something else spoils the taste.

Oh, when it comes to Nutella on pancakes, try adding sour cherries and cream also.

By rolling_thunder, # 25. March 2008, 17:26:49

avatar
Oh, one more thing: here, in Serbia, we call crêpes - pancakes! And no one ever makes pancakes in, well, the western meaning. x))

I'd recommend a Spanish wine - since I always think nutella should be eaten on a patio, in the sunshine!wine

oh yeah, anxiety, panic. Know those well!:headbang:

Mmm.. nutella doesn`t really help, after some months you are same as panicky and anxious but with 8 kilos more, believe me...:faint:

I tried Nutella...I tried to enjoy it...:yuck: to no avail!

How can anyone hate Nutella? It's just... perfect!!

And about 8 kilos more... oh well, my anorexic self could use a bit of that... x)

I still have tried my Nutella yet. It's queued up for consumption after we finish the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.

Well... try warming it up or spreading a really small amount of it over a pankake or sth... Oh well... I adore Nutella. Period. :D

By rolling_thunder, # 27. March 2008, 06:16:07

me too, chocoholic...and I also don`t love Nutella...there are many more better than that :chef:

By yomeriux, # 27. March 2008, 12:25:50

For example?

By rolling_thunder, # 27. March 2008, 20:26:49

Mmmm.. any dark chocolate makes me very happy

Laso hot chocolate, we have one in Mexico that is mixed with cinamon and it is SO good.

I don`t really love milk chocolate, and white chocolate :insane:

By yomeriux, # 28. March 2008, 02:26:23

I mean ALSO hot chocolate p:

By yomeriux, # 28. March 2008, 02:26:40

Oh. Over here, hot chocolate is usually served as a form of pudding. :S

By rolling_thunder, # 28. March 2008, 06:36:55

avatar
yomer is right....chocolate and cinnamon go hand in hand...
also have you tried it with the hot chili?

hot chocolate as pudding? So you don't drink it Bojan?

By angel292005, # 28. March 2008, 12:02:32

avatar
mmm, with chili? well, he have something called MOLE in MExico, is like a thick paste that is salty and sweet, made with chocolate, some nuts, and lots of different kinds of chile. You serve it on chicken mainly. It sounds very weird but it`s DELICIOUS!!!

But you mean hot chocolate with chili?? no, I haven`t!! it must be good

thunder, you don`t have hot chocolate as a beberage?? mmm..pudding...and what about chocolate mousse :headbang:

By yomeriux, # 28. March 2008, 12:20:52

avatar
hot chocolate as pudding? So you don't drink it Bojan?

Well, it should be drinkable, I mean, on every menu it's a beverage...
but finding a place where it isn't incredibly thick is really hard... so it's sometimes impossible to drink it. Only McDonals has drinkable hot chocolate.

And about the cinnamon... I adore it with anything.

By rolling_thunder, # 28. March 2008, 15:03:25

avatar
Men love cinnamon....but don't know it!

It's amorous but men don't know. heheh

I'm a mole fan. I like it almost more than anything, though it's a bit rich and sometimes fucks with my stomach.

By slackwrdave, # 29. March 2008, 04:54:02

Sounds tasty x)

By rolling_thunder, # 29. March 2008, 07:44:33

haha slack, yeah! I`m a big mole fan too, it`s one of the things that I miss the most from there. Have you tried mole enchiladas? with cheese on top, chicken inside? a bit of onion and cream? mmmmmmm....(drooling)

But yeah, it can be a bit heavy too, but you get used to it with time

By yomeriux, # 29. March 2008, 14:23:29

avatar
Hey,

Yes, the enchiladas you describe are perfect, and there are some Mexican restaurants in the area that make them superbly. The chopped fresh onions are a perfect contrast to the light sweetness of the mole sauce.

Whenever I have a mole dish, I feel like I'm reaching back into Mexico's history. Their cuisine is so fine, and their television ain't bad either. I'm also a fan of old black and white movies from there from the época de oro del cine mexicano.

There's a lot to like!

By slackwrdave, # 29. March 2008, 15:00:25

avatar
Slack, Mole was created in the colonial times of Mexico, so yeah, it`s an old dish (it has prehispanic roots too). You have to try Mexican food from the south of Mexico, from Yucatan. To me, it is the best food in all Mexico.

ABout the cinema from the golden era, there are such greta movies!! sometimes I watch them when I can`t sleep..some of them are so funny. Have you seen movies with Joaquin Pardave?

I`m very glad that you like Mexico, I love it too. It has its problems but it`s a great country.

By yomeriux, # 29. March 2008, 17:50:23

avatar
I do like the Yucatecan food. Pollo pibíl comes to mind.

Joaquin Pardave sounds so familiar, but I'm not sure what all I've seen right now. I'll keep an eye out and root through my DVD's. Thanks!

For some fun and some trivia, in 1996 I saw Silvia Pinal and López Tarso in the Mexican Cast production of Hello Dolly (¿Qué tal Dolly?) in Mexico City. OMG, it was a hoot, and so well done. Those two brought down the house. They were both quite old, yet they danced the numbers superbly, AND at full speed! They didn't request that the songs be slowed waaayyy down like Lucille Ball did in the cinema version of Mame. I have the soundtrack on CD and it's one of my all time faves.

Another great one is the Spanish_language production of Dracula. The Spanish version was filmed all night after the English cast had finished during the day. It's a truly golden film in my opinion. The lead actress Lupita Tovar was on the radio just the other day remembering it.

Mexican Golden Age cinema is so good I could never leave the front of my television due to it. I'm so pleased so many have been preserved on DVD.

Isn't my opera great? From Rolling Thunder's apartment hunt, to Nutella, to Golden cinema. Yay!

By slackwrdave, # 29. March 2008, 21:41:22

you are right!

Joaquin Pardave is a fat guy that appears in some movies along with Sara Garcia (you have to see her!!). He is sooo funny. Have you ever watched "Los tres Garcia" movies?? those are some of the best I think.

You saw Hello Dolly? I remember when it was playing, many many years ago. They are great actors both, I love Ignacio Lopez Tarso, he is such a great actor!

I didn't see Dracula!! I had no idea that they were both being filmed at the same time! that's crazy!! :eyes: But I did watch some other horror movies, one with German Robles as a vampire witch was very good as well.

And what about El Santo movies?? :insane: Those made me laugh so much  (thought that's not from the Golden era anymore, but it's so funny)

Wow, you are really a fan!
