Making the mastfoot tube

Got bored watching the paint dry on my old sprite so I started making a glassfibre tube for the mastfoot of the new Sprite.

Here is how:
Wrapped the mast with one layer of ondulated cardboard, added a second layer of silicone coated paper (*1) and made a cradle with 4 wheels.

After the curing of the epoxy I soaked the whole in water to make the cardboard give way.

The Fiberglass came off easely from the mast. After some cleaning up I had a 320g sterdy glassfibre tube in my hands, tailor fitted to the mast.

*1 my source of silicon coated paper is the local sign maker, it's garbage for him and lovely for me to have some handy in the workshop.

Greetings,
Ronny
