Bad luck

My passport, creditcards and plane tickets were stolen in El Calafate, Argentina. I was supposed to go down to Ushuaia, the southern most city in the world, the end of the world, but with no passport I can't get there. I have to take the bus all the way up to Buenos Aires to get my new temporary passport. A real passport takes 3 weeks, and I can't afford that.
And with a temporary passport i cant get in to the US, so i have to fly through Europe instead. I will sort all that out once I get to B.A.
Anyway, I had a great time in El Calafate. I met some great people there, and I met up with Suzanne, the swedish girl I first met in Irkutsk, Russia. She and her friend came down to see the Perito Moreno glacier. That was one of the coolest things ive seen on this trip. You could see pieces of ice fall into the water, ice blocks as big as houses smashing into the water. The sound is hard to describe, and the pictures i took can not justify seeing it in person. Then we went horseback riding. It was my first time on a horse, and I must admit that I was pretty nervous before I got on the horse. But the horse was very calm and chilled, so it was all good, and the scenery was fantastic. Check out the pictures in the Photo section.
Instead of going to the end of the world, me and suzz headed north again, with a stopover in Puerto Madryn. A 24 hrs busride. There we have seen penguins, seals, armadillos, llamas, a snake, elephant seals and killer whales.
It was pretty awsome, though we wish we could get a bit closer to the beach to get those National Geographic pictures taken.
Tomorrow we have yet another bus (only 20 hrs this time) up to Buenos Aires. Hopefully I'll sort out my passport and tickets in a couple of days, and then we're heading up to Mendoza to do some trekking, rent a bike and take it for a spin from vineyard to vineyard. Then we'll hopefully go up to Salta to check out the Salt lakes.
After that I'll see what happens.
Keep it real
Ronny
