rose's random rambly writings

...really!

Ramblings

, ,

I too have been struck by strangled creativity lately. No matter how hard I've tried, no interesting subject has made it through the save button...
So I though ok... why not just write down some random thoughts and stuff from the past fortnight?
Thought and done:

* To keep putting off a visit to the dentist because it is so expensive does not save you money... On the contrary - by the time you get there, the dentist will have found a way to pay for his next vacation...

* I've noticed there are more than me here who aren't very into shopping. At least not for clothes (we're not counting shoes now, are we?). Don't you agree that when you need to find something, the stores seems to only have stuff you wouldn't wear in a million years? No matter how many stores you run through, there just isn't anything that catches your attention. However, when you're just casually browsing - not looking for anything particular - you find lots of cool stuff. I keep telling myself to buy the stuff there and then and not later because I know it will be sold out. If only I could listen more to myself...

* By the way - it turns out I still haven't grown those two inches I'd need in order to find trousers that fits .

* Apparently we'll be seeing a lot of peep-toe shoes this spring. Although I'm not crazy about toes, I like the look of some of the shoes I've seen. With coloured stockings, it could look cool :D.
There's also an alarmingly big amount of jump suits (or catsuits or whatever they are called) in the stores. Not looking forward to that!

* I finally became a user of Spotify. So far it's looking, and sounding good.

* For some reason my hair stylist (that's her fancy title - I really call her my hairdresser) loves my hair. Is that why she keeps cutting it shorter? Does she collect the trimmings? Voodoo? Wig? Weird? Just to be on the safe side, I asked her not to cut so much this time... Funny thing is - I love her hair. A classical case of you want what you don't have.

* I visited facebook just to find that nothing special has happened there except for an invitation to a new club opening in Oslo on March 28th. It looks like it will be fun, but at the same day I'm invited to iPod baby's baptism in Malmö. I don't think I'll be attending that, though. I've already decided to go to Malmö the weekend after, and I suspect it might be a little stressful going there on Friday night and back on Sunday morning (most likely by a seven and a half hour bus ride thanks to vacation wanting dentist). I feel like such a bad person :frown:. I wonder if it'll help going to a new club?

* Spring is coming! The sun is taking on the huge piles of snow, and is reducing them little by little. It does wonders for the mood !

* My physio told me I have a too short tendon in my left armpit which explains why I'm not very flexible when it comes to stretching my left arm. It also explains why it hurts like hell when she digs her fingers in there! Next time I won't shower first as punishment.

* Yesterday (March 14th) it was International Pi Day. Since, as some of you might know by now, the kitchen isn't the place I shine, I skipped making pie and ended up with chocolate balls - again.
Since they consist of around 99% fat (there's some oats in there to balance all the butter and suger!), they should only be devoured on special occasions. Since I don't know why I should celebrate Pi, I'm sharing them with you here instead... as a thank you for managing to read through this whole post!

Zaphira 15. March 2009, 18:58

A fistful of balls?! Bwahahahahaha!

Ahem...

You shocked me for a second with the "not fond of shopping"-statement. I am so relieved that you mentioned that shoes do not fit into that category!

gdare 15. March 2009, 18:59

Javaen 15. March 2009, 19:18

Not showering as punsihment. Wicked awesome.

rose-marie 15. March 2009, 19:55

Zap - You know shoes deserve their own category

Darko - I'm glad you specified that p:.

Ellin -
I've never heard of the no pants day. Not something I'll try out, though. Cause you know... it's too cold here in May .

Jen - Yeah! :D At first I thought of not shaving, but that would just be too cruel... :o:

ellinidata 15. March 2009, 20:02

 it is celebrated as much as Xmas (by some of us) indoor celebration counts too! I am glad you had a laugh:p

rose-marie 15. March 2009, 20:06

 By some of you! Well, maybe I'll give it an indoor try this year then .

Javaen 15. March 2009, 20:08

I can do the indoor no pants day!

Dacotah 15. March 2009, 20:08

:D

rose-marie 15. March 2009, 20:12

Jen - you know the saying around here, right...? Pictures, or it didn't happen! p:

Heya Carol!

Javaen 15. March 2009, 20:36

Only I need to know for sure, right!?

flamingo-rinse 15. March 2009, 21:14

No Pants day?? Oh yes, I can do that :D (no shame, you see - can't be helped, but there it is )

The choc-balls look great, but I'll have to pass (allergic to chocolate) And I'm still waiting on my invitation from Spotify....looks interesting though

Oh sorry Rose - how rude of me...Hi, lovely to see you again, how are you?

Spaggyj 15. March 2009, 21:33

I agree wholeheartedly about the shopping rule. As soon as you need something, it's all animal print or only jumbo or twig sizes left in stock in anything good. I hate it  .

Maybe your hairdresser is creating a doll of you at home for her own dirty needs

Dacotah 15. March 2009, 22:18

Hiya Rose-Marie.

Javaen 15. March 2009, 22:28

Kimmie- :yikes: I hope her hairdresser isn't making a doll!

Flamingorinse- Allergic to chocolate, poor thing! I had an ex who used to bribe his friends for a single M&M before a test he hadn't studied for- would get so ill, he'd be sent home. He could use that trick about once per class per semester! :eyes:

rose-marie 15. March 2009, 22:45

Jen - Ok, but no bragging about how you did it then! p:

Nick - Poor you! But there's really just cocoa powder in these balls. That can hardly count as chocolate, right?
Oh, and let me try again - pictures, or it didn't happen! :D

Kimmie! I miss you! You're right about the animal print, too!
:eyes: She can't be doing that! Can she?

Carol -

Jen again - :eyes: Talk about being desperate!

Javaen 15. March 2009, 23:17

*shrugs* why would I brag?

And yeah, he was always looking for the easy way out of everything in life! Is it a wonder we were short-lived?

Phantom2 15. March 2009, 23:39

Rose, I know what you mean about the trip to the Dentist. Everytime I go, I sit down and he looks at me, gazes out the window at his BMW 7 sedan, looks back at me and grins and says open wide. :irked: Rat Bastard!

Javaen 15. March 2009, 23:41

 awwww. :frown:

dannii 15. March 2009, 23:42

Chocolate balls, LOL.

flamingo-rinse 15. March 2009, 23:42

A small shot of Cocoa-powder? Hell, I can live with that!!! May I take 2 please, one for lunch-dessert and one for afternoon tea? They do look delicious  and a couple teaspoons of cocoapowder isn't going to make me explode in a burst of heat & light (if it does, I'll be on tonight's news  )

OMG - blowing out a test - why bother, why not take it & get <some> result at least??....no credit at all for not taking it - some credit at least for taking it & not doing well....

Spaggyj 15. March 2009, 23:43

I missed you too, sweet Rose flirt . I bet ya she is. And I bet she's in league with the dentist to get some more sources of your DNA for her love-doll

Javaen 16. March 2009, 00:11

Flamingo- he was "sick" so of course he got to re-take it later!

Phantom2 16. March 2009, 00:20

 Nick! You better send back those chocolate 36DD breast shape Easter candies I sent you!

Don't eat em man!

Hermitess 16. March 2009, 01:16

Do the chocolate balls cause the need to go to the dentist? p:
They look yummy!!

I'm not much of one for shopping either. Unless its purses!! it takes too much energy & time. Then I guilt myself by considering how could have used that money for bills, food, gas, ect...

Homer: Doh!

Dacotah 16. March 2009, 03:50

Rose-Marie

flamingo-rinse 16. March 2009, 03:53

@P2 - I was never going to eat them, dude :D

I recommend that you don't immediately 'eat' the life-size chocolate full-body cast of Ellen Barkin that I sent you. Took me a while to make that and Ellen may require feedback (pardon the expression) as to it's ultimate success as a gift

Suntana 16. March 2009, 03:54

Well, Rose, your Blog's title DOES give you carte blanche to engage in random rambly writings. :D

Whoa! Just how short are you? Are you taller than a bread box? p:

For some reason, before I clicked on the link, I thought Spotify was going to be something like Twitter.

I think Hair Stylist is more correct because if she was really a Hair Dresser, you'd have little Barbie-sized trousers, blouses, socks, shoes, Etc. in your hair. :eyes:

Phantom2 16. March 2009, 04:17

@ Nick......Ellen Barkin  I'll try to restrain myself in the name of product research and development...will be taking my time for the sake of
"Chocolate Lovers" everywhere!

I hope she doesn't require refrigeration.

rose-marie 16. March 2009, 09:22

P2 - Exactly! You know what I wonder? Why teeth aren't a part of the body... Up here in the north, we have insurance for our bodies. If we get ill, we don't have to pay to be rushed to the hospital and get treatment. If something happens to your teeth, though, KA-CHING! It's weird.

Dannii - Stop licking them - others might want a taste too... :left:

Nick - You can have as many as you like as long as you keep breathing :D.
(Although I bet it would look really cool bursting out in heat & light! p:)

Kimmie - I was going to swoon, but then you say such horrifying things!

Lindsay - Good point! But no, I make these maybe twice/thrice a year, and always for somebody else.
Oooh, so you're a purse fan, eh? Nice :D.

Carol -

Nick again - You don't have her chained up in your basement cave, do you? :insane:

Carlos - Seldom has a blog title been more fitting...
I am slightly taller than a bread box, and slighty shorter than a lamp post. Trousers in this land of giants mostly only come in two sizes though .

Dacotah 16. March 2009, 09:46

Spaggyj 16. March 2009, 13:33

I did nothing of the sort

Rapunzel 16. March 2009, 18:22

Spotify and non gravity fed water, both unavailable in N.Z.
Typical that you'd all be talking about dentists and handing out sugar while my tooth trys to bunjy jump out of my head.
I don't need a dentist, it's just the full moon. Yep sure it is.

flamingo-rinse 16. March 2009, 21:04

<waves at Rap, indescribably pleased to see her again :D ) Was the full moon last week and I've now had to organise a haircut!!

Not at all, Rose - she is just naturally very restrained

@P2 : Ellen is cool enough, no refrigeration required

rose-marie 16. March 2009, 21:08

Kimmie - There appears to be some kind of strange blue smiley in your post! :insane:

Rap - You don't get Spotify in NZ? I think Nick is on the waiting list.
Eesh, that tooth doesn't sound like much fun. Have a sugar rushed anaesthesia while you wait for the moon to pass.

Speaking of anaesthesia - today's dentist update: He was so certain I needed a root filling so I had an appoitment today. When he started to examine the tooth, there was a sudden pain. He gave me my first ever anaesthetic at the dentist and continued the examination. Much to his surprise, it showed that my tooth had developed its own self defence with a layer of something with a fancy medical term. Turns out he only had to build up the part of my tooth that had gone missing
Unfortunately, I also have to extract a wisdom tooth, but that's not until next week.

rose-marie 16. March 2009, 21:09

Nick - it looks like you could use a trimming
Just pay close attention to your hair stylist! :eyes:

Suntana 16. March 2009, 21:38

Trousers come in only 2 sizes? Well, that bites.
The only time I encountered that situation was back in the 90s with a pair of Guess Jeans. The Guess line of Jeans didn't actually have all the different length sizes like any other brand. They had 1 or 2 lengths. I took that pair to a Dry Cleaners to get them altered, but that was the one and only pair that I ever bought of that brand cuz that was BS.

rose-marie 16. March 2009, 22:43

32" and 34" are the two most common sizes when it comes to jeans, and I need 30" - that's how short I am .
Some stores here do altering when you buy the jeans in there, but it's just not the same...
I did pick up some GAP jeans in USA, that fit perfectly. That was because they were ankle length  :o:.

I've never seen, or tried on Guess jeans. Why were they BS?

Suntana 16. March 2009, 23:11

The Jeans themselves were fine. I meant it was BS they can't have all sizes available like the other brands ... and thus force one to get them altered. Regardless of whether they could alter them there at the store, which I don't remember if they could, it was still stupid that you can't just BAMM! Pay, leave, wash 'em and wear 'em.

...how can you tell from there :eyes:....uhhh...no - it's OK, I was thinking of Zaphira's thread

flamingo-rinse 16. March 2009, 23:52

Hey Rose - knocked out by your photo <swoon>

Phantom2 17. March 2009, 04:17

+2

Zaphira 17. March 2009, 05:15

Mr. Rinse ~ I was thinking the same about the trimming when I saw Rose's comment!
And I am discrete enough not to ask how she would know! :D

rose-marie 17. March 2009, 07:07

   I didn't think of that! Thanks for a good morning laugh!

And thanks :o:.

Carlos - I totally agree with you

wickedlizard 17. March 2009, 09:51
