Rimini weirdness

, ,

Here's a post I'd forgotten all about...
I wanted to show you some of the stuff on the somewhat weirder side I saw on my vacation this summer.
Even though it's been a while, and this post is really late, some of these things still make me laugh...
Top left: This is part of a poster advertising a waterworld just outside the city. I think if you're advertising for family friendly aqua fun, you might want to use something else than two older guys. Especially in that position, and with those looks on their faces!
Top right: A sign I saw while walking home one night. It says "Brown swimming pool". I don't know about you guys, but a brown swimming pool doesn't sound very tempting to me!
Bottom left: This one cracks me up every time. This is the side of a rather big building. The line you see is filled with spikey things to prevent birds from sitting on the line, shitting down the wall (a birdshit protector, if you will). The rest of the wall was completely clean, but right here... well you can see for yourself!
Bottom right: Mental pastilles. If I tried them? No, I didn't dare :insane:.

Top left: A sign on the entrance to a bakery. No fat dogs allowed, if they are wearing muzzles and chains.
Top right: Another sign. This one on the entrance to a clothes shop. It has the usual "No eating", "No smoking" and "No dogs" figures, but it was the last one that made me giggle. No farting! I went into the shop, and tried to promp just for the heck of it, but no luck awww.
Bottom left: This door has two adresses. I wonder if they get twice as much post...
Bottom right: Last but definitely not least - the scary child eating clown :insane:! This stood outside a game hall. People strapped their poor kids to its tounge, put some money in a slot and it turned into this insane clown swing with a blinking nose! I bet there are tons of kids scarred for life after their vacation!

Hey Carol :D. Still some laughable material there, I think...

Spaggyj 3. October 2009, 16:54

My favourites - the fun lovin' men, the poo pool, mental candy and last one is my favourite - no farting    thank you so much for posting this!

rose-marie 3. October 2009, 17:04

Glad you got a laugh Kimmie . I wasn't sure whether to post it or not, but then I thought - why not?

gdare 3. October 2009, 17:04

"and tried to promp just for the heck of it, but no luck"
:sst: You should take Mental Bianco before entering a shop

rose-marie 3. October 2009, 17:05

 Yes, maybe that would work. But then it would smell all mint-y and that wouldn't be any fun, now would it? p:

Dacotah 3. October 2009, 17:21

Hey Rose-Marie, I think so too.

Spaggyj 3. October 2009, 17:26

Why wouldn't you post it?

gdare 3. October 2009, 17:34

I mean, you shpould take them after beans you have for lunch :D With cabbage salad :faint:

rose-marie 3. October 2009, 17:39

Kimmie - I thought that it was a bit old. It's two months since I was there so it's not really hot news p:.

Darko - That's more like it!

Spaggyj 3. October 2009, 17:48

It's still funny though p:

Furie 3. October 2009, 17:51

I want some mental pastilles. :D

p.mansoor 3. October 2009, 19:24

I sometime think that Rose only goes to places where it says:
"Do not enter if you know what's good for you".

Zaphira 3. October 2009, 20:17

Brown swimming pools and no farting allowed! And I thought Italy was a great country to travel in.

Phantom2 3. October 2009, 22:50

:lol::lol:

Great pictures Rose. That first picture is a hoot!
*marketing expert wanted*

garlingmatthews 3. October 2009, 23:25

I thought that the no farting sign was no men with flowers :D

clean 3. October 2009, 23:43

What would the owner of the store do if you did manage to fart in there? Chase you down the street with a cork?

garlingmatthews 3. October 2009, 23:47

Tamil 4. October 2009, 00:22

rose-marie 4. October 2009, 07:36

Kimmie - Yeah, I guess you're right. It's never too late for a laugh...

I'm not sure you need them, Mik! :eyes:

 Peter! Did you just call me a fat, farting bitch?

Zap - You just have to swim in the ocean and fart outside the shops and you'll be fine .

Thanks P2 - I couldn't resist taking a photo of it. It was all around town, so it was impossible not to see it :D.

Gavin - Ohhhh, I see what you mean! That would have been even weirder! p:

 David! I guess we'll never know... awww

Glad you got a laugh, Tamil :D.

Hermitess 4. October 2009, 14:21

That clown was creepy enough without me knowing parents put their children in it's mouth! nervous

I will have nightmares for weeks about this!!!!

unlisted 4. October 2009, 19:41

Children's rides that feature clowns are just plain wrong.

Intentional promping isn't as wrong as clown-themed kiddie rides.

Hermitess 5. October 2009, 06:27

"promping"

My new favorite word!

rose-marie 6. October 2009, 13:06

Hello Diabolical - welcome to my blog .

I know, Herm! It was super creepy sitting on the opposite bench, watching the nose go *blink* *blink* *blink* :insane:
Sorry about your nightmares.. Finally I can give back for those evil turkeys!

James - How can intentional promping ever be wrong? :left:

Diabolical 6. October 2009, 23:17

Silly Tentacle..

Furie 7. October 2009, 00:42

Trix are for kids. :left:

rose-marie 7. October 2009, 18:16

I had to look that up... :left:

unlisted 7. October 2009, 18:29

How can intentional promping ever be wrong, Rose? Excellent question.

If it clears the room :ko:, it might be wrong. But that can be a good thing, too.

I guess it depends on one's regard for those present.

rose-marie 7. October 2009, 18:38

Haha! Promp and regard for others? Sounds like a bad match either way. p:
I was thinking in a more egocentrical manner. I won't go so far as saying promping is good for you, but you catch my drift... :D

theoddbod 9. October 2009, 09:18

A no farting sign? Is this a major problem in Italy? :eyes:

Diabolical 9. October 2009, 10:17

Pasta makes you prompt? :left:

clean 9. October 2009, 10:46

Either that or the garlic in the pasta sauce ...

theoddbod 9. October 2009, 12:27

Wait...maybe it's not farting, but a reference to something like this

rose-marie 9. October 2009, 14:53

Ouch! :insane:

Furie 9. October 2009, 15:49

"He surprised me by blowing himself up." That's one unfazable prince. :eyes:

p.mansoor 9. October 2009, 17:41

I wonder ...... Did he say excuse me?

gdare 9. October 2009, 20:17

I guess he didn`t have time :left:

p.mansoor 9. October 2009, 20:48

I get your point but he could have excused himself before the event because he felt a big one coming.

gdare 9. October 2009, 20:58

clean 9. October 2009, 23:07

That was one explosive fart ...

rose-marie 10. October 2009, 11:26

The prince should've had the "No Farting" sign...

garlingmatthews 10. October 2009, 11:33

I understand anger at perceived wrongs, but how is blowing yourself up better than going out and helping people?

rose-marie 10. October 2009, 12:23

They're told it's for the greater good?

garlingmatthews 10. October 2009, 12:27

I guess. I just think that violence in general is bent.

rose-marie 10. October 2009, 12:35

Yeah, most of us think that. And I wouldn't be surprised if suicide bombers once thought that too.
I think that people blowing themselves up are never the ones who have planned the attacks. If you're fed information (or propaganda, if you will) you'll end up believing in the cause, never questioning why your leaders will never do the dirty work.

garlingmatthews 10. October 2009, 12:39

You're right, of course. I remember the parallel worlds that were Northern Ireland well.

rose-marie 10. October 2009, 12:54

Oh yes, you've been in the middle of it all. :frown:
Was it common with suicide bombers there?

garlingmatthews 10. October 2009, 13:04

Not really, I lived in Dublin where the whole thing hardly touched us. But I got the news and views from all sides. And they didn't match.

No, not at all.

rose-marie 12. October 2009, 07:21

It's so easy to forget the European terrorist attacks - IRA, ETA and, at some point also the Corsican groups (whose name escape me) - just to mention a few.
