rose's random rambly writings

...really!

You know you're a child of the 80's when...

,

...you pass this sign for a family parking space in a garage and mistake the pram for Pac Man.

aaahhh! Watch out lady!

Spaggyj 4. November 2009, 20:12

It is

Zaphira 4. November 2009, 20:21

It already chewed off her arms! :yikes:

Phantom2 4. November 2009, 20:37

Someone with a can of blue spray paint could have fun with that sign!

rose-marie 4. November 2009, 21:00

It's the new and improved Pac Man - with legs!

Stomyr 4. November 2009, 21:28

xD

p.mansoor 4. November 2009, 21:48

Great design. :D

Furie 4. November 2009, 21:56

:sst: Looks like an alien upside down.

Dacotah 4. November 2009, 22:08

What's a pram?

Spaggyj 4. November 2009, 22:22

I think that kid left a little poop too :left: .
I don't know the american word for pram - it's the thing on wheels that you push very tiny babies around in.

Moesring 4. November 2009, 23:48

I thought Pac-Man too. :o:
:sst: I think the American name for a pram is a stroller.
[Edit: My mistake. Apparently the correct name is a baby carriage - stroller is the name for a push chair.]

clean 4. November 2009, 23:50

Well, it's too late for the kid (like Kimmie said), but if they need to go to the toilet, at least they can find where to 'P'.

Dacotah 5. November 2009, 01:27

Thank you Kimmie, a stroller or buggy.

garlingmatthews 5. November 2009, 02:01

 Angry family, look at that pose!

gdare 5. November 2009, 05:55

And the dog is about to leave them

theoddbod 5. November 2009, 07:53

The lady is quite safe - she's between Pac-Baby and the power-up p:

It's more worrying that she looks a bit like a Christmas tree :left:

rose-marie 5. November 2009, 08:11

I don't really like the design. Who came up with that skirt/dress for instance...? And why is it that female sign figures never, ever, stand with their legs apart? :left:
The funny thing is what Gavin said - they look super angry :D.

 Poo power-up. That's exactly what I thought when I saw it!

Thanks for explaining pram, Kimmie & Moe :D. It was the only word I could think of when writing...

Darko - Dogs can feel things us humans can't. I bet he knows it's Pac Man and is getting ready to run for his life! p:

Mik - You're right! It looks like a bit of an upside down Android .

qlue 5. November 2009, 08:22

Actually, it reminds me of that martian that Bugs Bunny is always playing games with. p:.
'Pram' is an abbreviation of 'perambulator' which means 'walker'. So 'stroller' is a valid synonym..

rose-marie 5. November 2009, 10:07

I had no recollection of Bugs Bunny doing anything else than chewing on carrots and being hunted, so I had to google that martian... p:

On a side note - I wonder when they will fix the stupid broken formatting that occurs whenever there's an apostrophe in the title! :irked:

theoddbod 5. November 2009, 12:55

This place, fix a bug? You realise every time they do that it makes five new ones? p:

Stomyr 5. November 2009, 13:50

But that is how it goes

p.mansoor 5. November 2009, 14:16

What was the idea behind the family parking space anyway?
Is it something like parking spaces for ladies only?

unlisted 5. November 2009, 14:50

Now I'm going to have that stupid electronic intro music stuck in my head all day.

Tusen takk, Rose. :irked:

rose-marie 5. November 2009, 15:12

Gah, that's true, Mart. Or it certainly feels that way awww.

Peter - it's extra big spaces for when you have kids, prams, children's car seats and whatnot to load in-and-out of the car. That way, you don't have to scrape up the car next to you .
There is ladies only parking in Holland? :eyes:

Haha! You're welcome, James. It could be a lot worse... p:

p.mansoor 5. November 2009, 17:16

Oh yes, it's twice a broad as a normal parking spot ....... (just kidding :D )
No, actually they tend to be well lite parking spaces near the elevators in underground garages. They seem to make the ladies more confidant and I don't blame them.

Hermitess 5. November 2009, 23:05

Dakota, I have to say that kitten is so cute. Every time I read one of your comments I can so see this kitten saying what ever you've written. I don't do that with anyone else's avatar! too funny

gdare 6. November 2009, 05:54

*wonders what people imagines looking at his avatar*

Nothing pleasant, I guess awww

rose-marie 6. November 2009, 08:23

I think of Robocop

I think all parking spaces should be bigger than they are today. When SUVs are becoming more and more common (for a reason I'll never understand. I mean - why would you need that in a city?) they no longer fit into the designated area.
:sst: And I don't think that's gender related... p:

How are they controlling that only females park on those places, Peter? Although I like the idea of a generously lit space, close to an exit, I hate the fact that it's supposed to be needed.

rose-marie 6. November 2009, 08:24

And yes, Carol's kitten is cute. It looks so happy :D.

p.mansoor 6. November 2009, 13:29

I have no idea Rose.

gdare 6. November 2009, 18:17

qlue 7. November 2009, 03:23

I'm still angry that they cut the 'blood squirting' scene in the video release of that movie! :irked:.
C'mon, that was the best part! :left:.
(and the only scene that made it a 'serious' movie p:)

Diabolical 7. November 2009, 07:25

:left:

rose-marie 7. November 2009, 12:28

Peter - I think you should park there once and see what happens

Somebody sure likes facinthehole... p:

Aadil - Are you talking about the Pac Man movie? p:

p.mansoor 7. November 2009, 16:33

I don't think very much will happen if I turn up in a wig, skirt and high heels. (These shoes are killing me. :irked: )

:sherlock: I think Aadil was commenting on the RoboCop movie.

rose-marie 7. November 2009, 18:40

Either way, I'd love to see a photo story of your events

:sst: I think so too .

FlaRin 10. November 2009, 03:23

I thought the pram was a barbeque!!

(or is that supposed to be Barbecue?)

rose-marie 10. November 2009, 08:18

I wonder what that says about what decade child you are... :left:
p:

qlue 10. November 2009, 16:39

Yes, in the original big-screen release of Robocop, there is a scene where Robocop uses the spike in his fist to puncture the jugular vein of the villain, resulting in three metre long fountain of blood. A gruesome scene, but fairly close to what one would expect if one were to actually puncture the jugular vein. In the video/tv release, that part is edited out of the movie. It's the only scene that's deserving of the age restriction attached to the movie, so removing it should have removed the age restriction as well. :left:.

rose-marie 10. November 2009, 17:05

I can't say I remember having seen that scene, but then... I can't really remember having watched the entire movie either. :left:

gdare 10. November 2009, 19:27

I was very good in those movies :irked:

Furie 10. November 2009, 19:45

Did they ever reattach your arm after it got shot off? :worried:

gdare 10. November 2009, 19:56

Yes, it works much better now. The old one made a strange noise when I scratch my b... :left: Homer: Doh! Why, of course, they are made of steel now Homer: Doh!

rose-marie 10. November 2009, 20:03

:eyes: Balls of steel?

gdare 10. November 2009, 20:11

You know, bad guys hurt me really bad so doctors needed to stich me from a scratch :left:

rose-marie 10. November 2009, 20:32

So... you're really Frankenstein's monster? :eyes:

gdare 10. November 2009, 20:35

errr... watch a movie from the beginning, Rose :left:

rose-marie 10. November 2009, 20:38

But that's not nearly as fun as making it up in your head as you go along... p:

gdare 10. November 2009, 20:39
