...really!

Picturesque Paris

,

Of course I knew before I left that Paris is a huge city. I also knew that there is a lot of history around and countless things to be seen and/or done while there. Even though I have become quite interested in wandering around historical sites in my old days, I also enjoy experiencing a city through sitting on a café watching the life.
This weekend I did a bit of both, but mostly the latter :D.

On Saturday, I was having lunch on Champs Elysées, when I suddenly saw somebody I recognized.
It's the Norwegian Prime Minister, Jens Stoltenberg, casually strolling by. Next year, we have elections in Norway. I wonder if I can sell this picture then, with him under a sign that says "Change" p:.

I'm not very fond of standing in line, so even though I saw quite a few attractions, it was mostly from the outside. I guess that's the reason the photos aren't very inspired this time, but if you'd like to take a look at a selection, they are right here.

Enfin! Le printemps à Paris!I've been to Hell and back...

Cois - I'd like to think I'll return to Paris one day. And when I do - I'll be so familiar with the city already that I can go power-touristing p:.

Hi pfelelp . Yes, Champs Elysées. The weather was very shifting, but mainly good in the daytime :D.
Are you in Paris?

I see you were at the Pompidou Centre. Did you get a caricature done by the funny little artists who lurk there? Or aren't they around that part anymore?

Kimmie - thanks :D. I'm not very happy with most of them, but the selection I put here are some of those I'm the least unhappy with...

pfelelep - Hong Kong? That sounds cool :D.

Darko - Thank you. Stoltenberg is a public figure, and if he walks down the Champs Elysées he has to count on meeting people who know him - whether he likes it or not p:.
Actually, I was extra surprised to see him there as it was the day before the Norwegian Constitution Day which is celebrated like there's no tomorrow. (I was going to make a post about that, but it's kind of too late now...)

Mik - I don't think I've heard that song. Will have to look it up :D.

Hi Carol .

Mart - I didn't see any artists around, but to be honest I didn't stay for very long. I was merely passing it in order to get to somewhere else p:.
I wonder which of my particular features a caricaturist would enhance :sherlock:.

That is so cool that you were in paris, :D You should totally use that photo when the next election comes around, you can make some sweet money off of it. :D I plan to travel to paris next summer, well it all depends on the economy, becuase right know it is cheaper for europeans to travel to the U.S. then it is for us to go over their.

I hope you get to go José . Yes, the dollar is quite weak compared to some of the European currencies. It's certainly the time to find bargains online now :D.

By rose-marie, # 2. June 2008, 20:51:55

avatar
Yes it is right know. you should also think off buying land in the U.S., that is what a lot of europeans are doing also.

Got that too. p:

By Furie, # 3. June 2008, 11:14:41

avatar
 yes actually their is quiet of bit of land for sale here. What most people do is buy it, then claim it as a habitat, that way they dont pay taxes on it. And if you ever want to buy more than five houses on it, you just undeclar it. Their is some places up lower texas were the land goes for less than 4 thousand dollars an acre. :D

By jrd2498, # 3. June 2008, 17:08:43

avatar
So that's like three quid, yeah? *does the math* I could buy the country with what I've got in my bank...
