...the news are filled with squibs.

For instance - a few days ago, Swedish news anchor Rikard Palm (Sweden's funniest anchorman who once called a hotel in Tokyo to talk about the earthcake that had just hit Japan) came back from his vacation.
You could tell that he had had a nice, relaxing time because he had grown a moustache during his weeks off. This is what he looked like in the 18 o'clock news:

Believe it or not, this upset Swedish viewers to such an extent that they threw themselves over phones and e-mails and whatever they had nearby, and demanded the poor moustache shaved off. And so here's what he looked like one and a half hour later in the 19:30 o'clock news:

After the last newscast, several viewers called in to thank him for shaving.

And here I thought there were wars going on in the world...

Well, on one hand, that seems a bit extreme. On the other hand though, Anyone who makes a living by being on tv does have an image to maintain. Even if it's a Forest Gump image.

Moe - Yes they are! Whenever there's something upsetting (like when they want to vote for their favourite song to the Eurovision and the phone lines are acting up), they revolt

Aadil - I think it's ridiculous. So what if he wants to have a moustache? He can't go through life looking exactly the same anyway. One woman who called the TV-station said he looked like Hitler with the moustache

Actually, why not use the Muppets for future Swedish news anchors. It seems like thats what the Swedish people want anyway.

Who says the public ever understands anything on the news anyway. It's not like it's real or anything. Ask yourself just one question, if the news is true and public domain news without embellishent or bias, Why does every news bulletin end with credits that include, scriptwriter, producer, director, editor and copyright?
Surly non of those things apply to 'news'.
