American cars suck, contrary to Facebook group

As American citizens, it is important to support the American economy by buying American automobiles. It bugs me to see so many people driving foreign cars when it's GM and Ford that put food on the dinner tables of so many Americans. Our American car companies need our support now more than ever. According to the Detroit Free Press, Michigan has finally stepped up to help Ford. It's time the rest of the country did and the rest of Americans went back to buying American cars instead of imports. The rest of the country is failing Detroit and contributing to Michigan's "one-state recession." If you have ever thought any of this, then this group is for you.
This group isn't forcing anyone to do anything. We simply hope to raise awareness of the fact that Americans should be supporting their own industries if we want to stay competitive with Asia. If we don't, the Asian tiger will overcome us in all of our lifetimes. Furthermore, we hope to dispel the myth that our domestic automobile manufactures don't produce the same quality cars as foreign car companies.
OK, well being apart from just being ignorant, most of the things in there are wrong. Here they are:
...GM and Ford that put food on the dinner tables of so many Americans.
False. While foreign car companies are based in other countries, the majority of their cars are manufactured in American plants. So GM and Ford hire no more Americans than Honda or BMW.
Our American car companies need our support now more than ever.
False. Huge companies never need support of individuals. That's just common sense.
We simply hope to raise awareness of the fact that Americans should be supporting their own industries if we want to stay competitive with Asia.
So how would giving all our business to the domestic companies create more competition? That's backwards. If we put all the stress on Ford, GM, and Daimler Chrysler, they will be forced to innovate and THEN we can be in competition with Asia.
...the myth that our domestic automobile manufactures don't produce the same quality cars as foreign car companies.
False. It is a proven fact that American cars are of poorer quality than most foreign companies.

First of all, whoever this person was that created the facebook page was simply trying to support a domestic American business, something you should feel pretty ashamed of badmouthing my friend.
Second, do your research, don't take your high school social studies teacher's word for your completely misleading "counter" information....
Companies such as Honda have less than 1/6 of their plants in America, followed by others like Toyota that only have 1/3 of their plants on our soil. And don't cry about outsourcing (if you even know that means). The decrease in profit for American companies is a huge factor for why they outsource some parts. A decrease in profit that results from people like you believing a Honda Civic is that much better than a Ford Focus.
"Huge companies never need support of individuals..." Are you serious? Come on, that was just foolish and naive of you. Take a look at the voting system here in America for an elected official. Every vote counts, just as the effort and support of every individual consumer counts for any business.
Putting all the stress on American companies? Yea, another magnificent idea. That's great, put more stress on companies already under enough of it to begin with, swell idea my friend. Go back to community college and take a microeconomics class, I'm not even going to bother with that one.....
Also, the technology and innovation that goes into the production of American cars is right up to par with, if not above and beyond foreign automobiles. Even take Sync by Ford for example: a fun application, yet extremely high-tech. Look it up.
And the Hemi cylinder deactivation servomechanism? The sheer thought of such a system is brilliant, highly innovative, and works wonders.
And explain to me what you know about automobiles? And how American cars are inferior to foreign? A year after the Prius came out (which morons like yourself seem to believe is the God of all Hybrids), Ford introduced the Escape Hybrid. Technically in the SUV class, Ford went above and beyond Toyota with the Escape which claimed higher MPG, and was produced more efficiently and with less pollution. Try looking up how much pollution is created from producing the ion battery cell that is used in the Prius.....
This is a wake up call to people like you. You don't know what you're talking about! You heard something somewhere, from someone and assume its correct. If anything American is poorly crafted, its ignorant individuals like yourself.
Checkmate. Grow Up.
