Girls-only Trip to Baguio

In light of Liz's impending departure...

...we ladies decided to take a spur-of-the-moment trip to the beautiful Baguio City which is about 3 hours west of us. There were 5 of us (representing 5 different countries as well - me from the US, Liz from Canada, Jancy from the Faroe Islands, Ja from South Korea, and Lea from Australia) and we had a wonderful get away. Liz has spent a lot of time in Baguio City since the tribe they used to work in wasn't too far from there, so she took us all over and showed us many of her favorite places.

We even stayed up into the early hours on the morning having "girl talk" and stuffing ourselves with chocolate. We loaded up with pretty (and very cheap!) silver jewelry in the famous Baguio silver market (I got Emma her first necklace and bracelet - so cute!) and most importantly loaded the car with fresh fruit and vegetables from the beautiful hills of Baguio. Strawberries and lettuce and fresh mushrooms and white onions and fresh spinach! Yummy!

No this wasn't a centerpiece, it was a salad. And yes, I did eat flowers although I must admit I thought it was quite odd... All of us girls A "Lady's Slipper" flower - so pretty! Baguio City Liz and I Jancy and I Haggling with vendors at the market and trying to arrange for someone to lug all our produce to our car which was on the other side of town..

Good-bye Rocky and Liz!Sarah's "girl trip" to the big city
