Has a crash on startup left you feeling blue?

This issue is showing up for users running with a 16-bit colour depth. It seems that some changes that we made in preparation for future hardware acceleration in Opera 12.00 caused this breakage.
On Opera Next 12.00 builds the bug shows up slightly differently. The colour inversion happens but without the crash. It also only happens when hardware acceleration is not available.
The easiest work around for users is to switch to a 24-bit colour depth. Very few users are likely to be running hardware that cannot support 24-bit colour in this day and age. I suspect that it is more likely that the people who see this issue either have X misconfigured or the X configuration file that is being used was created a very long time ago and never adjusted again after subsequent system upgrades.
We will look into the bug our side to see if we can get 16-bit colour support back in a future Opera release. However, most users probably still want to run in 24-bit colour mode if they can.
