Working at Oslo office

I had been working at Opera's Oslo headquarters office on the 1st and 2nd week of September, 2008. The photos for external viewers are up at this blog's PHOTO section. Those were mostly shot during weekends and evenings there.
I could meet our team members at Oslo, yes, they are really good guys (and ladies) at the team. Now I work away and alone at office in Far East, but this stay for 2 weeks made me feel to be a part of the wonderful team in Scandinavia.
It was cold in Oslo, especially for an old one came from subtropical Asia, Japan. September in Tokyo is still a part of summer, high temperature and humidity, almost 30 Degrees in C and always 70 to 80 per cent. It'd been around 13 Deg C, cool and dry there.
Everything was reversed, not only the weather, but also the population and streets. Cars are going on the right lane, on an escalator people are on the right side, not so many neon signs on the wall of buildings...
I am a smoker. In Japan, a package of cigarette, 20 pieces, is around 300 JPY (ca. 14 NOK). I bought Tax Free's Japanese ones, 10 packages, at Narita airport, at 2000 JPY (ca. 95 NOK)... In Norway, you can buy only ONE package of cigarette! We have heard cigarette in Western countries are very expensive, around 10 USD a package. That was far above my limited imaginations.
There seems to be a law to prevent smoking indoors, that's OK. Reasonable rule, I think. For, there are a lot of ash trays, so you can find it with ease, although it's quite hard to find a toilet around the city. I'm so educated that I could not do rude behaviours, of course
People at Opera work so hard, intensely, that's I admire indeed. Some from very early in the morning, the others till late in the evening, that's also I praise so much. They are making the best browser around. With this confident, they work with talented colleagues. That must be fun.
Even after coming back to Tokyo, I am proud to be a member of it.
I could meet those wonderful people in Oslo, the people who make The Browser, Opera.
