Opera Playground

I know the title, but the link at Opera in the News: 1998 goes to the empty location.

So we have to consult to Google's News Archive Search and at last found "Opera 3.0 - Browser to Beat the Band". A very ineresting article in 1998, when Opera ASA was 10 person company. So I reviewed the article in Japanese at my blog.

The most interesting part in the article is below, in response to MS's criticism to Opera 3.0, by Jon.

"No one can really tell how the author wants the page to be viewed," he countered. "I've been following the Web from the beginning. The point of the Web was that it created a format that would suit any user or platform, not that it would let the author control the appearance of the page exactly."
