Religion <3 smile

hi! smile

Today I am going to write about religions. I am going to write about some different religions and I have interviewed a muslim. The best known religions in the world are Islam,Judaism and Christianity and they are religious religions. There are also non religous lifestyles like humanism. But today I am just going tell you more about Islam. I have interviewed my sister, Nancy about her religion. I am going to write about that later, but first I want to tell you about what religion is.

Religion is how you look at your life and what you belive in. Every religion belives in something. We can`t say for sure what will happend when we die or what the meaning of life is, but the religion you belive in may help you get some answers.

As i mentioned earlier Nancy is my sister so I did not learn anything new, and I knew how she lived from before, but most important you may learn something new.

Nancy herz is a 16 years old girl from Lebanon living in Norway. She is an activist in Amnesty internationale and she is the vice leader of the local group. This is the interview with her.

-For me living as a muslim in Norway, is not something that affects my everyday life. Before I am a muslim, I am Lebanese and then I am Norwegian. I believe that religion should be private, and that it should not affect the different aspects of society. Being muslim does not define me, being a fellow human being does. When I pray, I pray so that God will hear my prayers, not so that other people can see what a good religious person I am.
She Means that the other religions in Norway do not affect her in a negative way, on the contrary they prove that it is possible for people from different religions to co-exist. She said that she actually learned a lot by reading other religious texts than the Quran, and I see the similarities between the religions before the differences.
Do the other religions respect you?
Yes, I would say that most religious people in Norway respect me for my religion and my beliefs. So do the people who do not belong to any religion. Norway is a country where you can be who you want, believe in what you want and say what you want. That is something I like about Norway.
-I am sorry to say that I am not too much of a religious person, and among other things I no longer pray, nor fast during the month of Ramadan. Obviously I do not wear the hijab either, and the main reason for that is because as I said earlier religion should in my eyes be private. When it comes to why I am not a very religious person in general, it is because in a hectic life in Europe it is hard to find the time and capacity to be super-religious.
She do not think it has become harder to live as a muslim as she have grown older. On the contrary, she now know what she believe in and she know how she want to show that faith. For example she would never drink alcohol, eat pork, etc. because of her religion, and people seem to respect that.

If you click on the words Nancy Herz and Amnesty internationale you can read the blogs she writes, it is very intresting and both are writen in english. I recommend you to read them.
