I'm trying

...but where is this all leading?

Stupid monkeys

, ,

I hate this new Opera bug. When you update an old post it goes to the front of the line now. This is very frustrating. Especially since all I updated was a photo which a monkey had substituted for some reason. Now I can't even put the old photo in . It also updates to the front of the line if I update something minor, like a spelling mistake. This is silly.

oooh you should try resetting the time of the post....the monkeys get very confused....

San 18. October 2009, 07:07

how to do that?

hungryghost 18. October 2009, 07:10

in edit mode - there's an option at bottom of the page to reset the time/day of post. You'll probably lose your post for a few days first before it reluctantly appears again..

merci

that worked and I have no idea where the post went. But at least it's not at the front now. lol

I am careful and never publish post before reading it several times - I am saving it in Private mode, only. Then, when I am satisfied, I put it in Public or Friends only :D

Heh, yes, I've found that bug also, and it's resulted in me not correcting the bird ID on one my earlier Sask. posts! Very annoying...

Kimberly 18. October 2009, 17:05

extremely annoying

I don't like this new quirk of the Opera system, either. It destroys my diary-like sense of chronology.

San 18. October 2009, 18:08

It does work to reset the date though.

hungryghost 18. October 2009, 21:05

I guess the other option is to never edit.

San 18. October 2009, 23:59

 How could I leave a spelling mistake or a misplaced comma?

hungryghost 19. October 2009, 01:00

with impunity?

Quentin S Crisp 19. October 2009, 09:53

I think my problem is, I'm so disorganised and forgetful, I'd forget to make a note of the date of any entry I altered, and then I'd forget what the date had been.

This bug has been around for a while now, maybe it's just after the last update or upgrade that it slipped in again? I thought it was taken care of.

There's also an option to have the original date in the url of the post, like is done here, so all it would take is looking up to know the date of original post and memory can keep busy itself with more important things.

Quentin S Crisp 23. October 2009, 09:58

Ah... I'll have to look into that.
