I'm trying...

...but where is this all leading?

From Delhi 2 Dublin

I have a new favorite music! Celtic Indian Reggae Techno Rap Fusion! The band at the park this evening was Delhi2Dublin , a Vancouver based group formed only 3 years ago. These guys/girl are going to be famous. When I arrived, one song late, people were already up dancing. This is West Vancouver, a very conservative community of mostly retired people. But there is a huge "ethnic" community here as well. I don't really like that term because many of these non caucasians have been here longer than my "white" family. (I'm only second generation Canadian). Anyway, to see people of every age up dancing to this wild mix of genres brought tears to my eyes.

The lead singer is so charismatic and energetic. He had the whole crowd singing and clapping along. He even showed us some bangra moves. I'm still smiling! I haven't had this much fun for a long time.

I've included some links and a Youtube video, but honestly they don't show the energy that these young musicians bring. (check out "Apples" it's a newer song, very infectious).

My pictures aren't that great either. It was difficult to take pictures when they were dancing around so much, and of course I was dancing too! For 1 1/2 hours! I'll be sore tomorrow. It'll be a good sore. bigsmile ( I have to find out when and where they play next!)

Yes, that is a Korean Canadian in a kilt playing an electric sitar!

Full of energy. I like it even though it is not "usual" mix. The last ones I heard similar as them were Punjabi MC bigsmile
