...be sure of a big surprise! 
Well, I didn't actually see the bear, sorry if my previous post was misleading. This sign is just a few doors down from my place. A few minutes away is a heavily wooded trail that leads along the river so it's not surprising that we see wildlife at times, but not usually so close to home. All I can think is that it's a young bear, hungry and looking for a way to pad itself for winter hibernation. Anyway, I don't think I'll be going for a run along that trail until that warning is down.

I went for a walk on the river trail a few days ago. PANIC! This big black thing leapt out in front of me!
