It's Canada day. The park is busy with celebration activities. Two police officers are standing on the corner chatting with passersby. A pony tailed woman wearing sunglasses, yacking on her cell phone and driving a convertible, rolls up to a stop sign, and then rolls right through it.
One of the cops yells out at her, "Hey lady, that's a stop sign, slow down!"
She replies, "Oh, be nice to me. I'm a little upset, I just got a traffic ticket for no reason!"
He laughs, "Lady, we don't give out tickets for no reason!"

The past three weekends I have been teaching a crash course in Teaching English as a Second Language. My students, all adults have diverse backgrounds and all have different reasons for taking this course. Anyway, the course is very intensive and we have to cram a lot of information into very long days. I did my best to make it interesting and gave them all lots of practical knowledge. So, yesterday they all had to do a practicum, a practice lesson, and did they ever shine! All the laughter made the day go by very quickly. And they even planned a surprise potluck lunch...and gave me a little gift! I wasn't expecting any of this. I'm just so happy that they processed all that I taught them and came up with some wonderful, creative, exuberant lessons. I learned some things too!
