I would get nowhere with closed fists in the water. And some of the things you do are completely unnkown to me. I don't know what sculling is, for excample. But I understand that you train a lot! knockout

Keep wondering how multi functional the human body is bigeyes

Sansanshan Tuesday, May 4, 2010 2:27:48 AM

Norfrid, sculling is when you just use your hands, arms straight, maybe over head or by your sides.

Closed fists is really hard, but then it feels great to do the next length with open hands. Helps you feel the water.

Nic, I had a hard time remembering what we did. I think I'd like to keep a record of these workouts. They are quite good and not boring at all.

I had one coach who used to give us crazy sets like 50 x 50m. of freestyle. It really helped with keeping a good pace, but it was sooooooo boring!

We can learn a lot by watching animals and how they move so efficiently in different ways. How can penguins swim so fast?

Guess you´re right. Sounds like a good idea to keep a log book of your doings.

Yup penguins and seals are really fantastic to watch. their movements in the water is so much different from their moves on land!

I've heard it's because they're not swimming so much as flying in the water.
