Welcome to my own Hell

Science, ignorance an perception

I'm reading right now that in the XIX century scientists believed they had achieved explaining the world and the universe in their totality, they believed that there was nothing more to explain, that all the mystery had been revealed and that humanity had achieved total sucess in knowing it all. Such was the foolishness and pride of these scientists. Although I'm not against science, I'm against the excessive pride of a great amount of scientists believing they hold the truth to everything, in that regard they haven't evolved from their 19th century forefathers even as modern science has proved that many asumptions that former science had and supossedly proved were in fact wrong.

My point is like in the 19th century, science is closed to truths that defy its own dogma, just like the old catholic church that ironically denied the truths that science began to discover, just like William Blake said, we traded our illusionary world from the church, to the science.

I just hope that the doors of perception will be cleansed in order to evolve to new degrees of perception and understanding, I mean, according to the Kardeshev scale we're not even a Type 1 civilization, the lowest of advanced civilizations.. We're trapped within our own dogmas, we're afraid to tap into the true potential of our minds and wills

I agree Ro, perhaps by routine and habit, perhaps for fear or ignorance, or perhaps just for convenience, we have stagnated, but this is our fault, we have allowed ourselves and perhaps now is too late to get out of this hole. Will we evolve? Or, is this the imminent end of the human evolutionary chain?

Perhaps humanity as a whole has come to an evolutionary dead end, we're just circling trying to bite our own tails forgetting that there's a whole world in ourselves.. I'm totally in the idea that within us there are the keys to all answers and to unlock our true legacy, that of a terrifying, beautiful new form, just like a butterfly leaving its dissecated larvarian form behind, are we too human to understand?

Is it possible that we as stated before are "circling, trying to bite our own tails forgetting that there's a whole world in ourselves" simply because even as children see and recognize, species that prepare to evolve, butterflies, maggots, things of the such, are doomed to repetative movements until the moment before their enlightment, their evolution, their new journey? Do you think that the butterfly that turns from a larva realizes that they are yet the same beeing in-side as they once were before, just taking on a more "lofty" (pardon the pun) sense of being, of self realization? Satanic_plastic has simply stated yet another very self-absorbed aspect of self-realization. Is it that we ourselves are doomed because we are too narrow-minded to realize that maybe we need to step back? Maybe we are TOO self-absorbed and need to realize that we as we are now are nothing more than shells. The power is not WITHIN US, but AROUND US. we are simply a piece, a lego in a grand castle if you will. Who knows? Will we ever?

Enlightenment: For science yes, power is around us and of course, who can deny the power of an atomic bomb? The power of electric currents? The energy from the sun? Yes, science and technology had helped us to achieve control over those forces, forces that couldn't be tamed by the ancient men and that have helped us to live a better life, but at what cost? I mean, we're not fundamentally better than our ancestors, we live more comfortable lives, but we're empty, I search for knowledge inside because there lies a great potential. Delusions? Hallucinations? Maybe, maybe not..

I'm not sure of what are you trying to explain with saying we need to step back. And of course, the difference is that I'm pretty sure we're empty shells
