Managing a Firm-Sponsored Open Source Communities

, , , ...

I find this very interesting and worth reading the summaries atleast. If you are interested in open source and how firms and companies work with it this is a good read.
The article basically talks about the balance between openness and control for a firm and community.

Spring Break 2008!!

, , , ...

Spring break was about a month ago so now is a perfect time to tell the internet ( hi ) what I did during it. My roommate, his GF, My GF, and I planned on going to see the Smokey Mountains and Washington DC. The first day we drove to Savannah, Georgi to eat lunch, then all the way to Ashville, North Carolina and spent the night at a hotel just a bit outside Smokey Mountain National Park. I wanted some BBQ in Ashville but everything was closed by the time we got settled in, so I ended up eating A&W. It was decent, would choose other places over it. The next day we went on a hiking trail in the SMNP. On the way to the park we enoucnted some snow on the side of the road. It was the first time 3 of the 4 of us had seen snow so we stopped and played around in it for abit. It was fun and Im glad we did it. After playing around in it I realized I needed some better gloves so we stopped in Cherokee, NC and I picked up some gloves at some tourist shop. They are good gloves and keep my hands really warm. They are a nice leather pair and 40 grams, whatever that means. So when driving to the trail we stopped at acouple places and took pictures and took in the views. There was still snow in some spots on the east side of the park. We stopped and ate lunch at the NC/Ten border and on the way down there was a lot more snow. We didn't stop to see it though because we wanted a hotel for the night. We tried to find a good one in Tenn but they were all expensive and in a real touristy area. We ended up continuing on through Tenn, passing a Coleman factory outlet, and into Virginia. If we got to the Coleman store earlier we would have picked up a ton of camping supplies and figure out a way to fit them in the car. The next day we drove from Virgina, stopping at acouple really cool places then finally making our way into DC later that day around 1 or something like that. Next post will be about DC. Hopefully it will come tomorrow. Bedtime is midnight.

PS3 XMB Fake

, ,

Some pictures of the XMB in game for PS3 are fake. Just felt like updating everyone who reads this for there news.

Disney Channel Games

They premiered today and boy did I look awesome. I was in it for a good amount of time at the very beginning and I'm sure if you slowed it down and zoomed into specific spots you could clearly see me. A new episode should be shown next week at 8 EST 7 Central. So make sure you have your schedule clean for that day for the rest of the summer.

Sloppy Joes

I made sloppy joes today. Yum Yum. I had steamed corn and Parmesan noodles with them. Steamed corn was really easy to do. You just put a pot of water on the stove have it start to steam put a strainer on top of the pot put vegetables in the strainer and a pot top on top of the strainer. They came out a lot better than if they were microwaved.
I also got denied being entered into the college of education because I didn't take one class. Ill have to take that class in the summer to take any classes in the fall. On the bright side there are 3 classes that I needed to take but have been waived so that makes my work load a lot less. I also got a B on my last test for statistics so in order to get an A in the class Ill need to get an A on the final which is commutative. It's pretty annoying because I thought I got a 100 on the exam but apparently not.
I got some JB Weld for my radiator sense it was a small crack on the radiator neck. It should hold until I get back home to Hollywood. It seemed pretty hard of a substance so I have faith in it. I missed a little spot so I went back and put more on it today.
This show on the History Channel is awesome. Its about ancient robotics. So many cool inventions that are so complicated but also at the same time so simply designed.

Turkey

I made turkey last night in the crock pot. Salt, Pepper, Garlic, and Scallions. I just let it sit in there for acouple hours. Made mashed potatos and carrots with it. Came out good. Im making soup with the left overs tonight.

Chicken

I made some chicken tonight for myself. I first put some oil on the pan then put some garlic and scallions on. Then I put the chicken in with some parsley, basil, and sage with some salt and pepper. It came out great. I had it with parmasian noodles and green beans.

Barbeque

Yesterday we had a barbeque. By we I mean, Patrick, Heather, Shannon and I. It was good. We had burgers and hotdogs with corn, baked potatos, and beans. After we ate we played frisbee, volleyball and nukem. We had fun. Then we went and saw the Peaceful Warrior for free. It was an alright movie. I wouldn't see it again but I didn't hate it. It was about some gymniast who wants to be in the olympics.

Chicken

I made some chicken dish. It had whole garlic cloves and some scallons cut up. I first browned it on the stove in some oil then popped it into the oven to bake for a bit with some leaves on it. I made mashed potatos with it but that was a mission. I got the chord stuck inbetween the burner and it caused a short in the circuitry but we just flipped it off then back on and it worked. The chicken came out really good but not so much the potatos. I think it had to do with what kind of potatos I used.
