A Little Something About Nothing Inparticular

I started thinking about this after reading Mik's Blog about branding. And if I was on my PC right now I'd put a link to that blog here. ** sorry Mik still learning how to post from my phone **

I had joined other blog sites such as MySpace and LiveJournal, but never really met anyone and didn't really feel like I belonged.

But why was I there? Easy really... I was lonely for social interaction I'm obviously not getting in my daily life.

Already I feel a difference here a sense of comraderie that was missing.

Especially, a thank you to Attilla, Mik, and Dacotah for making me feel so welcome. And much appreciation to everyone who has responded to my blogs and posts.

I was happily surprise the other day to see I had "1 new message" on my opera page. My first thought is who would want to message me, I'm so new here. Maybe it is one of those "Welcome to MyOpera" type messages. But, no, it was from another new member here at MyOpera who simply said, hi scootercat and the subject of the message was Cats. Well this intrigued me as I am an avid cat lover, so I wrote back.

I had to ask, why use a subject about cats and then not say anything about cats in the message? I then proceeded to tell my new friend about my cats. The response was interesting. My new friend said "cats are nice pets, and if I say dogs, how will you respond". I start wondering what kind of joker do I have texting me here.

So... I respond and tell my new friendabout my dog. I figure it is all harmless so what the heck. You see my new friend lives in South Africa. I like the idea of conversing with someone in another country. I want to share ideas and cultures, so I'm going to keep going.

We went from talking about pets to what is it like in our countries. I'm really looking forward to getting to know my new friend better and meeting more new friends from around the world.
