Nukes?

So, it looks like Iran is expanding their nuclear facilities and their army. Am I afraid? Sure thing... the prospect of a nuclear war is really scary. But I'm more worried about another country. The USA have already shown the world they will not rule out the possibility of using the nukes to destroy something.
Why on Earth do the USA goverment (and please notice I don't generalize and say all americans are like that) think they can act like the World's owner? Sure they're the most powerful nation in the world, and no one in their right mind would deny that. But when such power is in the hands of a warmonger like Dubya, then I'm worried... A war on Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda has turned into a Saddam Hussein hunt, and now it looks like it may become a war on the entire Islamic world. The one argument I hear the most from pro-war people is that if they have to kill 10000 to save a million people, then it's ok... but it's a flawed argument. No one can predict the future. No one knows how something will unfold until it happens. There are chances that they'd really be saving a lot of lives, though there are also chances that they'll be killing the guy who would discover the cure of cancer...
