Chapter Three

, , , ...

Howdy,

Thanks for dropping by and welcome (or welcome back) to the Blog section of Scrawl Forth - The Opera Community Writer's Group!

My God! It's been ages since I did anything here! Nearly a year! :faint:

Still, I've finally recovered from the kicking I gave myself for not doing anything with this group and am now back in the saddle (er ... ow).

I've added a few new posts throughout the forum, and plan to do more very soon indeed.

Of course, this isn't a one-man band, so if you have anything to contribute, please feel free! You don't have to be a member to post, but it certainly won't hurt! There are quite a few different sections to post in, and you're all welcome!

Write on,

David.

Chapter Two

, , , ...

Howdy,
Thanks for dropping by and welcome (or welcome back) to the Blog section of Scrawl Forth - The Opera Community Writer's Group!

Well, here we are, a touch shy of two weeks since this Group first Scrawled Forth, and already we've got more members than you can throw a typewriter at!

So, what I've decided to do - since the Blog part of Scrawl Forth is mostly news about the Group itself - is go through and give each of the members a little 'links included' write up, as thanks for them joining.

First up, we have new Moderator, Tori, better known as Shopping Penguin to those who've visited her Blog, or know of (or are part of) her very own Group, Penguins Plus!

This US citizen has only been with the Opera Community since February, 2007, but - already - she's made her presence felt (and already been made an Opera Community Member of the Week
, too)!

Full-time study, marriage and looking after the new addition to the family don't leave her much time, but still she manages to contribute to the OC!

So a big welcome to Tori and a big thanks for the fact you volunteered for Mod duty, too (not to mention all the contributions you've already made to the Group so far)!

Next up, we have the indescribable Sugarwinx. Don't worry, that's 'indescribable' in a good way ... !

Part of the Opera Community since July, 2006, this party princess has made her presence known by posting scads of posts and comments to blogs, forums and groups all over the OC.

A multi-moderator of several groups, this marvel from Malaysia has also claimed herself an 'iHubby' :eyes: in the virtual personage of Demiphonic, a relationship I'm sure Randall ... uh ... wasn't expecting ... !

Like Tori, above, Sugar also has a four-legged addition to her family (who loves the camera almost as much as she does!

So ... a big welcome to Sugar!

A world-traveller who's anything but weary, another OC MotW, Mickey Joe has been with the Opera Community since June, 2004!

This humourous Hibernian is already a Mod over at Paper Bag Writers, and if he wanted the same job over here, I wouldn't have the slightest problem!

So ... a big welcome to Mickey Joe!

Since November, 2005, the prolific articles of the Opera Community's very own wise man (or, perhaps, wise guy  ), Ravo, have been making us think and making us laugh.

This US citizen has also provided us with extremely well-written short stories on his Blog, too (and I've also had the privilege of reading one of his novels)!

Also an OC MotW, David is always thoughtful, considered and intelligent. To Scrawl Forth, he brings a wealth of experience!

So ... a big welcome to Ravo!

Since December, 2004, the unofficial Opera Community sweetie has shared the good times and the bad with us on her Blog.

Also a US citizen, Sarah has jumped in with both feet to become a highly esteemed, and much loved member of the Opera Community.

With a wealth of poetic ability, a posting by Sarah is always a welcome read!

(She's very likely been a MotW, too, but I can't find the link to confirm it). :faint:

So ... a big welcome to Sarah!

Since March, 2006, the Opera Community's very own esoteric Azorean artist, Isabel has left us thinking at the profundity of her posts, left us smiling at the winsomeness of her posts, left us educated at the erudition of her posts and left us shaking our heads in amazement at the sheer volume of her posts!

(Very likely to have been MotW, too ... and, yet again, I can't find the link to confirm it). Homer: Doh!

Photography, sculpture, painting, writing ... her talents can't be nailed down to any one area, and her Blog is an absolute wealth of information and culture!

So ... a big welcome to Isabel!

On his current profile, it may say that Brad has only been a member of the OC since August, 2007, but I know for a fact that this Australian 'aggressor' has been around much longer than that (because I was the one who nagged him to start his original Blog in the first place)!

Troubles with upgrading his computer and losing passwords (and - therefore - his posting access to his original Blog) aside, Brad is a writer who will not be stopped!

Continuing what he started at his original Blog, Brad has returned to the OC with The New Aggressor Blog, where he continues to bring us facts, news and reviews on this exciting sub-genre of popular fiction!

A published writer with an encyclopaedic knowledge of - and an infectious enthusiasm for - his subject matter and a decent bloke all 'round, Brad knows what he's on about!

So ... a big welcome to Brad!

Since April, 2006, Canadian blogger San (yes, she was a MotW, too) has been a popular part of the OC!

With the help of OC queen, Lola, San posts in her Blog of her love of the Great White North, her occupation joys and her passion for swimming.

So ... a big welcome to San!

Isaac Asimov published about 500 books in his lifetime. With over 6,000 posts to his credit since May, 2006 (yes, you read that correctly), Mart can, I think you'll agree, safely be considered 'the Isaac Asimov of the OC' (as well as, possibly, MotW ... I can't find a link to confirm)!

At his incongruously-named Writer's Block Blog ('incongruously-named because he has anything but 'Writer's Block'), this UK writer shares with us seriously-inventive and entertaining short stories (some of which are even real)!

So ... a big welcome to Mart!

Anne-Elizabeth joined the OC in August, 2007. A citizen of the US that we simply don't know much about (yet  ), we do, however, know that she is a poet (because she asked a very good question over in the Poetry section of the forums.

So ... a big welcome to Anne-Elizabeth!

US citizen, Seth has been part of the OC since February, 2007. In that time, on his Blog, he's shared humourous, intriguing (and sometimes slightly risque depending on your point of view) pieces that he's found from all over the Internet.

Sometimes naughty but always nice, a big welcome to Seth!

Since June, 2007, Australian, Madelaine has posted about her work, about her study and about her observations of life.

On her Blog, she's also provided us with with excellent movie reviews, thoughtful considerations of the media and deep insight into novel characterizations.

So ... a big welcome to Madelaine!

Since October, 2005, Shane has provided us with entertaining, thoughtful and financially astute postings! A husband and father from South Africa, Shane's Blog is always well-worth a visit!

So ... a big welcome to Shane!

Well ... that about wraps this post up! Thank you all for joining Scrawl Forth! I hope you all enjoy being part of this group as much as I enjoy you all being here!

NOTE ONE: If there's anyone who has gotten MotW status that I've omitted here, imagine me saying, "Oops, dammit!"

NOTE TWO: If you'd like to be a Mod, please let me know at Wanna Be a Mod Bod?

NOTE THREE: If there's anyone you know of you think would enjoy being a part of this Group, feel free to invite 'em! After all, the more the merrier!

Chapter One

, , , ...

Howdy,

Thanks for dropping by and welcome (or welcome back) to Scrawl Forth - The Opera Community Writer's Blog!

Kinda bare in here, ain't it?

That's because most of the action is happening over in the forums ...

... but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Or am I ... ?

Most of what I really want to say is over in the Forums, anyway ... ! Repeating it here would just be redundant!

So, I'll just have to make do with the following:

In this blog section, you'll find news about the forum itself. Such and such joined. Such and such left. I made a new section. There's been so many posts, most of the computers on Earth gave up in disgust!

You know ... things like that ...

So, welcome ... ! Have a poke around in the Forums, join up and post something. It's members only, but becoming a member is easy! Even if it's just to say, "G'day!"

Looking forward to it,

David.
