Friends, almost everyone has some in their My Opera friends list. Don't get me wrong, friends are great, but how many is too many friends?

When I look through other people's friends lists, some of them have just a few friends, like between 1-5, but then there are others that have over 30+ friends! Is that too many? I remember looking at someone else's blog that mentioned this. Are people adding friends to their friends list just so they can look like they have a lot of friends but really dont? I know both users have to agree to become friends first, but after that, is the "friendship" still there? Are people adding friends to their friends list and then be never heard from again?

I had a similar case not too long ago. I added someone as a friend, and they added me as a friend. When I tried to contact this person again, they never responded. If I'm going to have friends, then I would like to keep in touch with them occasionally. Wouldn't you? One common thing I notice is with new users is that they go around looking for a bunch of people and asking everyone to be their friend, but once they're not so new anymore, then they're almost never heard from again. As I said before, don't get wrong, friends are cool, I just think that they should keep in touch with you unless they have a reason not to, that's all. ^_^

So what do you think? Is there such a thing of having too many "friends" in the friends list?
