Pip and I are on the lookout for cheap baby products. We're looking at classified ads etc. to try and pick up some bargains in time for bean's arrival. Even though I know we're looking for things like stairgates, every time I see one listed in an ad, I misread it as "Stargate" and get excited at the prospect of being able to purchase a means of intergalatic travel, for a very affordable price.
I did a bit of investigating on t'Internet, and what do you know! You can actually buy a "Stairgate SG1". I'm definitely getting one of these
I saw this picture in Engadget, and got excited. I mean, look at these beasts of machines! Robots! Firing lasers of death! How cool is that! Whatever this "Blasers" is, I want in!
But then I saw video footage of the said robots in action. Disappointed doesn't come close
A clever little ad - very catchy. It's been stuck in my head from the first time I saw it. Not a patch on the Honda Cog advert, which I'm sure you'll agree is the best advert EVER MADE.
Pip and I have just got back from Canada, and I've uploaded some pics. We had a great time, and Niagara Falls is amazing. The view from our hotel was incredible, and it seems strange not to have the rumble of the falls in the background any more. It was just at the start of the holiday season, and it was really quiet - perfect for sightseeing!
The weather was ideal (not too hot, and not too cold), and on the last day I managed to get some pretty good shots of the falls (if I say so myself ). Driving was a bit traumatic, and I think I'm now addicted to Dairy Queen Tin Roof Brownie Blizzards, but apart from that, it was a top holiday!
It's a well-known fact that babies are cute. My little little brother is proof of this: See! Very cute indeed! It is also a well-known fact that babies in costumes are even cuter. Again I will call on my LL brother to prove this: He's wearing a pirate hat! Cuter!
As we've now announced the future birth of Bean, Pip's started to buy stuff for the baby. I think I'm going to lay down some ground rules, and be quite strict about this: Bean can only wear outfits that make him/her look like something else. I think that this will make him/her that much cuter, and provide countless "embarrassing picture" material for when they are older.
This was Pip's first baby-related purchase (and a bargain at £0.50, no less!), and it's good to see she's sticking to the rules. Note the ears on the hat which will make Bean look a little like a bear. Genius. Whilst searching for baby outfits on t'Internet, I came across this site, and I'm sure you'll agreed that it is the Holy Grail of baby costume sites. Just look at this one: A polar bear! Just how awesome is that?!?! Okay, that may be going slightly over the top. Perhaps I should just stick to the subtler efforts...
As a first time parent, I'm pretty sure I'm going to need some advice on how to look after our new born. Luckily G-Off pointed me in the direction of this site (albeit a while ago...). It's very informative, as you can see.
A new version of the best mobile browser is available to download and test. Great stuff! I absolutely love Opera Mini, and have not met one person who doesn't! The new features look like neat - I think the auto complete will be very welcome.
This is my donkey pen holder. He sits on my desk, keeping my pens safe until I want to use them. Pip bought it for me from eBay, and it looks über cool. You would think that it would be an ideal present for anyone, but especially for children. The cute little face, and cartoon-style seems to suggest this. But no! Turn the donkey over, and you get a nasty surprise! Naughty bits! On a plastic donkey! How rude! Was there any need for them to be included? I don't think I'd ever have plans to breed a herd of Donkey Pen Holders. I feel ashamed and embarrassed, and ensure I keep Donkey nice and stocked so people can't turn him over.
