Superman actually does have two weaknesses: Kryptonite and magic
Oh how very convenient.

football, gaming, FML
Having played Football Manager Live a lot this weekend, I've come to the conclusion that I am really bad at managing a football team. My fledgling career at the obscure Nottvery Athletic team started well, and I won my first two games. I was playing with my trusted 4-4-2 formation, and all was well. I lost the next three games, however, but managed to get back to winning ways with my sixth game. Three wins and three losses. I was happy with that form.
I think I was one of the first people in the Game World (there are seven different worlds in FML), and when other managers started signing up, I think I became out of my league. A 9-0 drubbing, followed by two 5-1 defeats made me think something isn't right with my team. I signed a couple of new players on trial, changed my tactics, but this had no effect. I have now lost twelve games in a row, and morale is low.
But credit to Sports Interactive; they have created on heck of a game. Even now, with no hope of victory, I want to jump back in and play more. The game emails me with news about my team when I'm not playing, teasing me, willing me to play it. Right now I'm at work, and I can't help thinking of formations and tactics, and how I can turn things around for my team.
I thought the normal Football Manager was addictive, but FML is a whole new ball game.

gaming, football
I got some very exciting news yesterday. I have been accepted onto the Football Manager Live beta testing program. For those of you who don't know, Football Manager is the best football (or soccer if you're Khadgar, G-Off, or Willy/Fußball if you're agony) manager game ever created. I've lost count of the many hours I've spent playing it, trying to take Barnet FC to the upper echelons of the Premier League.
Football Manager Live is a Massively Multiplayer Online version of the game, where you get to build a squad, and take on other managers in real-time games. You can enter tournaments, create leagues, and it looks superb fun. Now my weekend will be spent trying to lead my team to glory! I just have to think of a name... I'm going for Giant Enemy Crabs FC, or Nottvery Athletic, methinks. I will let you know how I get on.
