STICKY POST

photos, holly
After a brief exchange with FB on twitter today, I realised that I've been pretty poor at posting new pictures of Holly. I'm never sure how interested people actually are of seeing copious amounts of photos (and we take a lot), and so I've never been very active in uploading them.
Wifety, on the other hand, is very good, and her Facebook albums are full to the brim
I'm going to make amends, somewhat, and I've stated a web album on Picasa. This will sync, with any new photos that I place in the folder on my laptop, so it will hopefully be easier to keep up-to-date.
My plan, although a little cliché, is to take and upload a picture of Holly everyday (or at least as close to that as possible). The danger is that, as I really only see Holly before work (when she's eating breakfast), or after work (when's she's eating dinner), they will all be pictures of her eating! Ah well, at least she takes after her old man
I've tried to go through the photos I already have, and choose one, or two to add to the album from each day we have taken photos of Holly so far. I can email pics from my phone, so I'm hoping that it will build into a nice collection. It's already scary to see how much she's changed in such a few months!

I think my camera's going to be
very busy over the festive period. It was inevitable that I'd have to open up a
new album to accommodate all the photos.
Well, she is the cutest baby
EVER (even if I say so myself

life's little, pleasures, photos
Pip and I have just got back from Canada, and I've uploaded some pics. We had a great time, and Niagara Falls is amazing. The view from our hotel was incredible, and it seems strange not to have the rumble of the falls in the background any more. It was just at the start of the holiday season, and it was really quiet - perfect for sightseeing!
Highlights of the trip include going behind the falls, seeing the falls at night, going up the Skylon Tower and CN Tower (don't look down!), and the bizarre area of Clifton Hill, which has some of the weirdest attractions I have ever seen!
The weather was ideal (not too hot, and not too cold), and on the last day I managed to get some pretty good shots of the falls (if I say so myself
). Driving was a bit traumatic, and I think I'm now addicted to Dairy Queen Tin Roof Brownie Blizzards, but apart from that, it was a top holiday!

I have a strange fascination with ginormous man made structures - feats of engineering that take your breath away, and just make you stand in awe.
This happened to me whislt reading this blog.
The photos are excellent, and made me go "wow". Go, see for yourself.

It's only been 4 months since my Honeymoon, but I've finally got around to uploaded a few of the photos. There were quite a few, so I've been a bit selective. It's mainly landscapes, as we actually didn't take that many of ourselves!
We went to Lucerne, in Switzerland, and it is such a beautiful place. We had a lovely time, and hope to go again someday.
I have put the photos into two albums:
Photos of people, places, and objects of interest.
Photos where I've tried to be all artsy.

wedding, album, photos

Well I did it! At the weekend I became a married man. It was such a great day - nothing went wrong and everything went right!
It was a bit mad, frantic, and surreal at times, but such a great day. I have a few pics and placed them in the
Wedding Album (including some of my desk when I got back to work...nicely decorated) - I will be adding more as and when I get them.
I won't go into great detail as sooooo much happened, and it happened so fast. I was dreading giving my speech, but apart from a few wobbly moments, it was well received. I got up really early on the day (around 5.30 am) and couldn't get back to sleep, so I was pretty shattered by the end of it all, but it was a fantastic day.

I was just mucking about with my photos, so I made this. I've been meaning to try it for a while, and it was just a case of finding the "amber". It's annoying it's got a blue background, so I may have another go.

With my trip to Switzerland coming up so very soon, I thought I'd buy a new camera. It's a bit of an expensive thing to do, what with the wedding coming up and all, but I want to make sure I capture this trip in all it's glory. It's not like you go on a honeymoon everyday, after all!
I did, however, sell my old camera to help fund it (in case you're wondering what was wrong with my old camera, it was a bit bulky, and ate batteries like I eat donuts - that's a lot).
So in the end I went for a Sony Cybershot DSC-W50. It's not too expensive, and has decent specs. It's teeny tiny, which is nice, and has a rechargable battery.
I used these two sites to make my decision, and in truth I found them extremely useful.
Steve's DigicamsCameras.co.ukIf you're thinking about getting a new camera, I suggest you pay these sites a visit.
Anyhoo, I took a few shots this evening, just to give the new gadget a go. The results can be found
in this album. They're a bit poor, but I wanted to have a play!
