How is the old houses important in our society？

With the rapid development of urbanization, many people suggest that old houses should be broken down and replace by modern buildings. But others hold the belief that we must protect the cultural heritage.The old houses help us know more about the history of certain period. Different people have diverse attitute towards this issue. Before presenting my own opinion, I would like to discuss both sides of the arguement.
The former group of people advocate to substitute modern buildings for the old houses. To begin with, the existence of old houses damages the landscape of the city. If they are broken down, the city will take a new look. In the second place, modern buildings
are more suitable for living. Lots of old houses have been built for hundreds of years, so there is potential danger to people who live in it. At last, if the old houses give place for modern buildings, it will help to solve housing problem. As we all known, China is a densely-populated country. People live in urban areas have little place to live.
However, other people are strongly against breaking down the old houses for other reasonable sake. Firstly, many old houses are significant and special for certain people. Maybe it's the only object left by their ancestor. Or it is one's wedding place. Secondly, old houses are the mark of history, especially the cultural heritage. Houses built in different periods have different shape of exterior and structure, some of them even have disappeared in the modern arcgitecture. Therefore, it is worthy of research and to be protected. Thirdly, old houses should open out to tourists. This can promote the development of economic.
To sum up, both sides have sufficient reasons to support their views. It is hard to say which side is better than the other. If asked to made a decision,I will take a equal view. Fof the sake of conserving traditional culture and attracting tourists, we should take resposibility to protect the cultural heritage and keep those old houses which have special meaning and function. At the same time, we could break down the old buildings if they are really dangerous, useless and klunky.

BBC背靠背，什么也看不见了；
Hulu（葫芦）里开始卖“高雅”药了；
Joost这猪死了；
Blinkx不灵克死了（早晚要被共匪克死）；
优酷（youku）有苦难言了；
土豆（Tudou）煮熟，共匪开始吃了；
淘宝上淘不到六四文化衫了；
阿里巴巴就更别提了；
Weather也开始报喜不报忧了；
至于百度、腾讯、新浪、搜狐、网易，本来就是中共的五虎将。
Twitter尚未被共匪轮奸！但我（何健）预感，离那天不远了。

右派（youpai.org）自成一派了；
人民报（renminbao）人民来看了。
