At work we have a relax room which is basically a bedroom. They have a few bunk beds
so people can take a nap if they're too tired or if they aren't keeping well. I mostly prefer to sleep in the lower bunk 'cos the temperature is perfect there. I don't know why but the relax room is always too cold. And sleeping on the top bunk definitely requires a blanket, a good one.
I don't use the relax room very often but whenever we are going for a picnic and have to leave early I take my bag to work the previous day. And after work I sleep in the relax room for a few hours and then go for the picnic. It's fun going for picnics that way, 'cost the picnic starts as soon as work stops.
Recently we have been getting mails from facilities about the dos and don'ts in the relax room. Like no eating, talking on the phone, loud conversation, taking care of your stuff... etc. It's common sense but people tend to ignore this and cause others unnecessary trouble so someone has to step in and set things right.

I haven't been able to read any books for a while now. But after some inspiration from Jan de Smith I picked up two books from a local second hand book store. Two books by John Grisham for a hundred bucks and I can get another one in exchange when I return these two. Quite a bargain, isn't it?
I finished reading the first book today, The Associate. It's about a guy who just graduates from law school and is blackmailed into joining a certain law firm to steal top secret documents. It's amazing how he fights his blackmailers and protects the integrity of his profession. The story is so captivating that its hard to put down once you've started reading it.
I'll start off on the second book tomorrow and probably also add a picture to this post too.
edit: added pic.

As you are probably aware its lent and as usual people try to be good and give up doing things they like, for example eating meat or chocolates, drinking alcohol, luxurious pleasures etc. I usually stop eating non-veg food during lent.
This year I decided that I would also grow a beard. I'm not sure how this tradition started but I recall my uncle had kept his beard once and last year my brother did. So I thought I would do it this year.
But this beard has been drawing too much attention everywhere I go. Often I am asked why I haven't shaved and I just say I'm keeping my beard for lent. And then the conversation turns to the customs of lent and why the beard and how its unhygienic and its not helping anyone etc.
In just a week I'm starting to get fed up with this additional attention and I'm considering getting a clean shave. But then I'm afraid I'll have to deal with questions on why I gave up so easily? I'm in such a dilemma over whether I should continue growing my beard or get a clean shave.
Anyway its too late now but I'll try to post a pic of my beard so far tomorrow.

I had been to Goa last week for the Carnival for the very first time. It was
a lot of fun. Fantastic floats. I'm amazed at the amount of effort put in by
the people to make those floats.
I tried taking a few pics but only had my camera phone with me so most of
them are shaky and not very clear. Anyway here are a few that are atleast

I've finally received the opera goodies from the advent contest.
The package was already opened, on asking the postman said that it was opened by customs. strange!
anyway I don't think anything was missing, but I guess that is what caused the delay.
