blog
As you probably know I had started a self-hosted blog at
selurus.com. And that blog was doing fine till recently as I haven't been adding new posts on that blog. Why? I really don't know. I seem to have lost interest in the project. I originally intended that blog to be a place to share my knowledge and any new discoveries but I haven't had anything to share for some time. So the space has been idling away.
Now that is a self hosted blog and I have a
website hosting account from
BlueHost where the blog is currently being hosted. My subscription runs till the end of the year. So unless I change my mind the future of the blog doesn't look too bright.
Actually I quite liked having my own domain but with so little activity I probably have to find an alternative hosting that's either free or very cheap but reliable at the same time. I was recommended a free host, I'll probably give it a shot. But this blog here will continue to be the base even then. I can't imagine leaving My Opera Community, its my online home.

opera mini
I noticed a new link on top of the page on Opera Mini today when I just launched Opera Mini 5. At first I thought that a new version was available, but wait, I was already using v5.1 so I looked closer and noticed that it was a link for the Opera Mini Survey.
Apparently Opera is conducting a survey for marketing research. I've filled out the survey and it only took a few minutes. The survey questions were based on Opera Mini and mobile phone usage.
One question that really struck me was "Have you ever asked someone on a date using SMS?"
Well I haven't, have you? And did you go out?

work
When you're just out of college generally you don't have any work experience and finding employment in a competitive economy is a major challenge. The solution is to take part in a
summer internship program. It may be a paid or unpaid internship, based on the industry you're in. In either case internships provide a valuable opportunity for students to gain exposure to the professional world and experience the work culture of an organisation.
Also internships provide students the opportunity to use the knowledge gained and equips them with practical knowledge. Often internship programs are used by organisations to recruit employees with interns being offered full time positions in the organisations.
If you're looking to expand you're horizons and work abroad or travel to different locations you should consider
internships abroad. This will give you the opportunity to travel, meet new people, experience different culture, expand your outlook.
The internet is the best place to start looking for internships. You should also try networking with people who are working in the organisation or industry that you intend to join, this will help you to learn from their experience and know what to expect so you can make an informed choice.

game, life, football
As I mentioned in the previous post, I went to watch a football tournament yesterday. It was an inter-department tournament and I wasn't playing but went to cheer my department's team. I wasn't off so I had to go before shift.
The team played fairly well considering none of them were professionals, although they did have a few practice sessions in the weeks leading up to the tournament. They won the first match 0-9. This was a fun game to watch. The other team looked like they weren't really prepared or hadn't practiced.

I wasn't able to stay to watch the rest of the games as I had to go back to work. I later received the message that they won the next game as well 5-0 against a fairly decent team but lost in the quarter finals 5-1.
My colleague agreed that their performance in the quarter final match wasn't very well and with the mud ground turned to muck, the ball didn't roll on the ground much.
The field didn't have any grass and there was a slight drizzle in the morning turning just one of the goal areas into much during the 1st game and that did make it a sight to watch. With the rain continuing the whole ground was turned to muck. I would've loved to watch them play on the ground full of muck, although it wouldn't be interesting football or fun to play either, I guess.

Anyway my department did better this year than last where they were knocked out in just the first game. So hopefully the trend will continue and they'll do better next year.
