opera mini, blog, nokia, mobile
...
I've been using a Nokia N73 for just over a year now and its been a really good phone to use. I've been posting here solely via the phone, mostly uploading pics via email and using Opera Mini to update posts.
The phone developed some fault a couple of weeks back where the joystick would just keep scrolling down when it was just touched and it could not be stopped. I showed my phone to an expert who pressed the joystick and its has been working fine for now. He said that I've been using the phone excessively hence the joystick may have become loose. That really worried me, and I'm trying to be careful as I use the joystick.
Now I've been looking around for a replacement phone before this phone is seriously damaged.
I've been very pleased with the performance of this handset so I'll probably stick to a Nokia device. Also I use a lot of symbian apps so the new phone will need to have a symbian OS. I prefer a candybar shaped phone and I'm not too keen on using a touch screen device.
I've considered the available options and the phone I'm interested in is Nokia N79.

Its very similar to the N73, more like a upgraded version. With features like a 5mp camera, gps, wifi, faster processor, etc I'm really looking forward to get my hands on this phone soon.

audio, N73, mobile
I've got a 2GB memory card on my phone but even thats not sufficient for me. I've got my favourite songs on my phone 'cos I don't have another music player. I've got a lot of songs on there so that leaves very little space to download audio books or other podcasts.
I've heard about compressing files and I had MusicMatch Jukebox on my PC so when I went home today I compressed the files and Now I've got a decent 200 MB FREE SPACE to download audio books and other content.
I've realised that most songs have a bit rate of 128 kbps and sound really nice but if you reduce that to 64 kbps the sound quality is reduced slightly although its still pretty decent and reduces the file size significantly.

mobile, nokia, N73, sony ericsson
...
I've been using a Sony Ericsson w700i for about a year now and it has been very nice to me, only freezing occasionally and always starting to work fine if I leave it alone for a while. Absolutely loved the walkman feature and the headphones are awesome, camera is pretty good (check the pics on my blog).
It supports java apps hence I've been able to use opera mini and been able to blog here and post in the forums. Thank you Sony Ericsson
Edit: 1st September 2008
I've bought the Nokia N73 music edition yesterday.

I know its not the latest phone out there but its pretty good and meets most of my needs. The browser is good but it takes up a lot of data and besides we dont have 3G here so I'll still stick to my trusty old opera mini. The text box limit is 5524 so the posts are only limited to my imagination now. I've still got to figure out the copy paste works.
Thats it for now, I'm gonna go get some new software for the phone.
