As i already mentioned yesterday, today was the big day. The first day at a new fitness club.
I woke up bright and early at 7:30 AM(had to go to bad at 10PM in order to be able to do this) and at 8AM i was ready to leave, so i could meet up with gyzmo at 8:30 in front of the club.
Then i got an sms, from
Henrich, it looked like he forget his keys to the office, i offered to go there and bring him my keys, luck had it that Gyzmo also had a pair so when he called me, i filled him in and we promptly decided to meet at the office and then go to the club.
After signing a one year contract, we got ready to do some heavy lifting. So we did the normal warm up routines then we got on a treadmill. It was a first for me, i don't know about Gyzmo, I've never been on one and it was a strange feeling. I keep thinking I'll fall off.
Of course the first thing i did, was to set the speed so that i could run. While i was running i felt like i was jumping up and down and the "earth" kept moving. After a while the machine displays a scrolling message:
"Reduce speed to lower your heart rate"
I was like, yeah what ever you say. According to the machine my heart rate was 189, now i don't know if that is a lot or a normal value, but i did not care it felt good so i kept running.
Then the guy next to me, was like: "You should slow down, the machine keeps flashing that message", so what could i do? Set the machine to walking speed of course.
The most interesting thing about a treadmill is that when you get off, everything stops and your head hurts. After the experience with the treadmill, i tried some other machines, like a bike and some other torture devices.I got tired of it all pretty soon and starting thinking about how hard it will be to find an image for this post. We originally planned to work out 2 hours but that quickly turned into half an hour for me and a full hour for Gyzmo. He was pumping away while i was make jokes and walking around trying to get some feeling back into my legs.
All in all, it was fun, we'll do it tomorrow too, but this time with a trainer
