In an unusal move BAE Systems subsidiary Insyte, the UK’s sole provider of warship command systems, has decided to standardise on Windows 2000. The new Royal Navy Type45 destroyers will be fitted with Windows 2000. Torbay, an attack submarine has also been retrofitted Windows 2000 command systems and as time goes by Windows 2000 will be fitted to all of the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet.
