Te-row my land which is situated on the northwest border between Pakistan and Afghanistan with an average elevation of 3000 ft above sea level is home to Two Historically very important Pakhtun or Pakhtoon Tribes namely Orakzai (Wargazee) and Afridis (Oepreedee. These two tribes are ethnically from the same stock which are known as Karlanris. The literal meaning of Karlani mean Frying Pan. An orphan who was left behind by a Caravan leaving for North after spending the Winter in Some remote part of Central Asia was adopted by a {Bitany} Tribesman who are the real Ancestors of Afghans. The orphan was left behind with the Frying Pan. The name of the Frying Pan in the Language of those Nomads was Kalani so the mercifull adopter having the idea of the origion of the Poor but very Beautiful and Stalwart Orphan gave him this name. Which is nowadays known as Karlanri. But its a myth, Other Pathans blieve that they are not racially identical to them and that they came in a very near past from some place in Central Asia which means that they are not Afghans or Pathans. Some trace back the origions of the Karlanis to the white huns who invaded the Indian Sub-continent in 5th Century AD. One reason to belive is this that our langauge Pakhto is very different from the rest of the Pashtoon population but as white huns were a mixed group of many races maojrity were the Hoons or Turks but the ruling race according to some historians were Germans. Karlanris can't be from the Turkic race who are known as Hazars or Taurks to our villagers whose meaning is Black {Thore}And there is a Tribe in Karlanis namely Thauri who are very proud of being Turks but there features totally differ from that of the Turks. We are Pure Indo Europeans. For example the word "to see" which is "Gora" in common Pashto is "Ksa" in our so called hilly language. The verb "To come" in common Pashto is called "Ratlal" and in the language of Orakzais it is "Riden" There are 18 Clans of Orakzais and 8 Clans of Afridis. Their names are as under; First Orakzais (Wargazee); Mamoo-zai, Masoo-zai, AliSher-zai, Khadi-zai, Ali-Khel, Aa-Khel,Rabia-Khel, Mama-zai Drradarr, Shakhon,Malla-Khel, Mishti, Mamad-Khel, Mani-Khel, And-Khel, Sipoyay, Feroz-Khel, Baizoti and Storey-Khel. 8 Clans of the Afridis (Opridi) Adam-Khel, Qanbar-Khel,Malik din-Khel, Zakha-khel, Zukka Khel, Kuki Khel, Sipoyay, and there is another one whose name is not coming to my memory. I will tell you about it later.
