I recently found a Sex Pistols song online, and LOVED it!!!! XD

They are SOOOOO good!!!

I am now trying to get a b8nch more songs.....:left:

Well, tt be the summer for the Intellectual Gamer. (That WOULD be me, roflamo~!)

I have read about tne pages... Yeh. I know. I should get some mroe done, lol.

I have also gamed prettty much non-stop~!

I get the wireless internet, for now, around the fifteenth of July. My parents are being loosers. :mad:

Sirang ~! Have you heard about the new Guiatr Hero, due out this fall? It is gonna combine Guitar Hero anf Rock Band!!! :headbang: They are coming out with a new drum set and type of Guitar, too. The drumset is gonna have two cymbals, and the guitar is going to have a "new feature that cannot yet be disclosed because it is not yet pattented, but it is wicked sick"... Or something like that i swaht Game Pro said, lolz.

http://www.fank.ru It's in russian which makes it a little daunting, but it's easy to get the hang of and has loads of music. If you have any problems there's a tutorial of how to use it on my sidebar.

http://get-music.net This one's in English but has less music.

The Sex Pistols weren't really that good. Their bass player was a pretty good songwriter so they ditched him for being too good a musician (Or at least that's what they said...) and after that they were rubbish. Sid Vicious was the replacement. Crappy bass player and useless songwriter. He replaced Glen Matlock who was the only one with any ideas on the musical front.

Yeah, I live in the UK and I lived through punk and came out the other side thankfully unscathed. The original punk band was the 101ers, who turned into The Clash, the Sex Pistols were put together by a guy called Malcom McClaren who ran a clothes shop called 'Sex' and who was an ace self-publicist. Basically he told the band that they didn't need to know music, the important thing was to insult people, something that Johnny Rotten was very good at. Once Matlock was gone he was proved wrong since all the Pistols could now do was insult people, and although McClaren kept them in the public eye with a series of oh-gosh-terribly-shocking publicity stunts, their actual record sales bombed.

I wasn't too impressed with punk. To me it was just a remake of what the early rock'n'rollers had done in the 50s, and the Beatles had done in the 60s. The Clash, The Jam, and to a certain extent The Damned, were all OK, but most punk hits were actually made by exactly the same guys who'd been making those ghastly 70s pop singles that the punks were so angry about.

I suppose basically the Sex Pistols were just another manufactured band like The Monkees or today's boy bands. They did as they were told and they made a lot of people happy and sold a lot of records and are fondly remebered by people who were the right age at the right time.

Oddly enough the real talent behind Public Image was also the bass player, Jah Wobble this time, but they actually did seem more interested in doing something with their music rather than simply making the papers, as a result of which I, at least, liked them a whole lot better.

Incidentally, my personal opinion is that all UK punk was actually based upon the stuff The Ramones were already doing in the US...

Punk is kinda like a mix between rock and metal.

Hmm... The thing about the Sex Pistols that really gives them an appeal, I think, is that they were SO radical!! Most teens go for that kidna carp. P: (Hell, even me!) And it shocks the "normal adults" to no end!

If the people just ignored them, liek not banning the song, as the video said, then they prolly woulda broke up so much sooner.

And I like that one song that Sid Viscous sings, My Way. :lol:

He wasn't my favorite, though. Wasn't he a druggie? That's not really my thing. :rolleyes:

Oddly enough, despite me liking all this kinda stuff, I'm really not into drugs, alchol, and everything that goes with those. :lol::lol:

I don't really know much of The Ramones. I only have one of their songs, Blitzkrieg Bop, and it's a really washed-out version... With lots of static. :yuck:

Also, I saw in that video that someone, like, stabbed Johnny Rotten becuase of that song. That's just wrong! That kidna shit happens all the time, hrer, too, and people can have their opnions! As long as they aren't violent, then why should someone else be?!

I went to a CD store the other day, and the guy there told me that PiL is outta print. :no: DAMN! Now I've gotta go look on Amazon or something. I like them. They're actually reeeeally good. :D++

And is PiL from the UK, too? I wasn't entirely sure. :confused: But I thought so. Lol.

PiL prolly survived somewhat better primarily BECAUSE they were more mainstream.

I just checked iTunes. Sex Pistols were rteally only around for three years, and they started up again recently. And PiL was more like about 25 years. Excuse my math. P:

...All iTunes really has is partial albums... :cry: ...Mebbe I really never WILL get thair stuff... :irked: Damn.

Rotten did do a couple of nature documentaries for Channel 5, I don't know why he hasn't done any more. Matlock is more of a musician than a punk, which is probably why they ditched him. Jones and Cook are the two I really dislike because they initialy set up the band by stealing another band's gear. When asked if they would return it now they were making money they said no, but the other band could always try and steal it back.

I have made a few for my film classes, so he's officially my favorite of then bunch, haha~!

I don't really know all that much about Matlock, still. He's an enigma. But he seems the most mainstream, and yeah, more of a musician, lol.

Jones and Cook are the ones who really started it, apperently. It said it in the magazine. They then found Matlock and Rotten. I find it haliraious that they picked him just becuase he looked cool. XD

And I DID see that those two acquired their equiptment in a less than desirable way (lol)... But, I mean, really! People steal stuff everyday! SOME PEOPLE (:whistle:) have even stolen some of their music, so in the long run, they have prolly lost enough money that they gained by getting five-finger discounts. :yes:

I'm quite sure they've lost a whole lot more through copyright theft than the value of the stuff they stole, but as a percentage I'm betting the impact on the guys they stole from was a whole lot more. I've had a guitar and some other bits of equipment pinched from me, and it's not a nice feeling.
