shoehorn's brooding grounds

today i began my new summer job as an assistant statistician and everything was all gravy. it wasn't a terribly eventful day but i was able to attend a meeting with the folks who have been working on the project to which i've been assigned. take home messages for the day, and this was straight from the big cheese himself, and by big cheese i mean the project manager: 1) never set unrealistic deadlines, and 2) quality over quantity. that is, it's better to come up with a single great idea in one hour than to bathe in eight hours of mediocrity. i think he was kidding around. kinda. but it was pretty funny when he said it. only downside to this job, and i'm only nitpicking here, is that i can't sleep in anymore! that was one my favourite parts of the day. bed all warm and toasty. =(
