Between suburbia and cemetery there is a green heaven beneath the tall pine trees. Whole hillside flourishes every summer, full of lilies and all kinds of shrub.
aka are not pine trees on Wertti's picture if that is what you mean.
I didn't even Notice that as Your Forrest is Captivating Me so I didn't see the Minor detail Sorry about that ...Looks like it's in the Thicker part of the Finnish Forrest as the trees are more closer Together & its just Thicker. I guess I was just Hoping it was near the Lake but it could very well be either way You tell Me Sami...http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Bee.gif -

In Black & White I meant from the Angle of Your Shot it Looks like its in the Thicker part of The Forrest but is the lake as Close as Werttis Location Sami????http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Boo.gif -
I can't write You an E-mail explaining it then... as it's to do with the Subject of the Imagination & people might get the wrong Idea Sorry Sami. As they might think that I sound crazy thats what I meant + I'm Sh
One of our most common conifers here is the Eastern Hemlock. When there are lots of them... enough to form a grove or forest, there's no undergrowth whatsoever. I thought it was interesting that your conifer grove had so much undergrowth.
The shade doesn't look all that dense, Deb, not enough to shade out the undergrowth ... I've been looking as hard as I can, but hemlock doesn't seem to put out growth-inhibitors, the way walnuts do, so there must be some other agents at work. Do crews go through, "weeding"?

Pine forest is a different from larch and spruces. Pine trees does not drop their leaves that would cover the ground, and pines also let more light to reach the ground. And maybe there are also some other reasons (minerals etc.).
I neglected to say, Sami, before the conversation turned to other matters, that these are really nice shots. It's interesting how negative and positive space get muddled in the vertical shot.
Here's a little different point of view http://youtu.be/hxzquvrTSeM It goes something like: "Let's go under the shade of trees..."

Nevertheless, the Finnish pine forest usually always have some understory (new word learned http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Dance.gif - ).
