A flock of gulls startled into flight by an approaching car. Taken close to the Melvin Price Lock and Dam in Alton (in background).

Very fast shutter speed - 1/1600 - to catch the action and short depth of field f/5.6 on a 400 mm telephoto lens on a 1.6x crop camera.
